The season 5 thunderlords update was funny. All 10 players had it some games.

Season 3 should have had Ahri and Zed in there somehwere, Kass/Ahri/Zed were literally the only mid champs played.

Riot is going to open up bot lane to non-marksmen midseason. Wow this is gonna be interesting.

We don't want to push marksmen out of bot lane. They'll still be great choices there and, if you want to play nothing but marksmen in bot, that should be a fine choice. Can understand the concern about being pushed out of the only position some champions can play and that's not our goal.
We want to open bot up to a range of classes, not just marksmen and one other one. That'll be a gradual process though. Most likely outcome is that mid-season opens the position up somewhat (mages most likely). Later work then opens it up more, based in part off learnings from mid-season.
Why we think we should do it:
We think LoL is a more enjoyable and interesting game when you can play a wider range of team comps and get a range of different laning experiences. A lot of players gravitate towards trying new stuff, experimenting with what does and doesn't work.
Bot is currently much more limited in terms of what works there than other positions. We'd like to open it up as a result to players who want to go bot but don't like Marksmen and players who like marksmen but would also like to play some other class(es). That's been a frequent request from many players for quite a long time.

SKT just lost to winless MVP, not just 0-5 in series but 0-10 in games MVP.

I thought about that. And then I decided that basically what it means is people want to be able to play stuff together with their friends bot lane that isnt marksman/support.

I'll be interested to see how they shift the meta that drastically.
I'm assuming it will come via changing the runes up a bit or introducing a new rune tree altogether.
With the troll shite I see in bot lanes in my games already, I'm not sure Riot needs to do anything to change it
On a different note, has anyone watched the new Annie origins short that Riot released today? shite is creepy and sad. They need to do more of these on a regular basis.
I'm assuming it will come via changing the runes up a bit or introducing a new rune tree altogether.

What are they going to do? Just say "it's ok to play mages bot lane?" Are they going to add a queue option for "APC" and "ADC?"

I dont see how this will work.
Botlane works now because supports dont need solo lane gold and marksmen dont need solo lane experience.
Bringing a bruiser tank assassin or mage who relies on abilities to a duo lane, will put you incredibly behind in xp. Mid and top will have lvl 11 ultimates while botlane is still lvl 9

Honestly, this is the only logical thing they CAN do at this point. Which is dumb, because people were doing it anyway.
You just came out with a massive rune/mastery change. How are you going to completely change an entire lane without overhauling the brand new rune system you just put in place?
You're pretty much pushing your standard ADC champions out completely.
Do you find a way to make Vane, Graves and Quinn more viable top? Boost Ezreal and Kogmaw AP ratios so they can be played mid?
Anytime Riot comes out of left field with these random changes, I never like their explanations (or lack thereof)
