Meh, he hadn't even purchased it yet. He's one of my "friends" on psn so I think he was being sincere. He was just uninformed I think. I may tell him it's all the same, of just let him spend all that money he's worked for

my PS3 got the YLOD saturday. My buddy is trying to fix it (he's fixed a few before) but I am dying to play damnit.

Fat Boy PS3. Had it since Jan 2007. My buddy said he is pretty sure he can do it. He's an electrician and super nerd. Does computer repair on the side. He has the parts / tools to fix it and the know how. Hope he comes through for me.

clear 3 hours out of your schedule and break it down to the mobo. that thing sucks in dust like crazy. a lot of YLOD issues come from burning dust

Yea, it isn't a hard fix, just very time consuming. I used to fix consoles at a video game store in BR and i learned everything i know from youtube

Has anyone gotten the message that tells you you are low on funds and tries to direct you to the playstation store so you can purchase more money? I had 100k and it still said I was low in funds

I was getting restless on several occasions by running out of the covered area to engage a few remaining red dots, only to find there were still more behind me and I would get killed. I should have just remained patient and stuck to the plan.
