Pretty bullshite that they patched it out. I saw someone on twitter say that this could possibly be a way to limit people's ability to do quick money grabs like that and help influence them towards the microtransaction money. Let's hope Rockstar doesn't go down that slippery microtransaction slope and be happy with $1 billion dollars, if that isn't asking too much.

How do you get together a group of 16 people you know if you are already in the game with a full group?

not sure. you could try inviting them all to a mission or whatever, then afterwards have everyone vote for free roam. it may put everyone in the same server.

Does anyone know if you can do races alone (and come in 1st obviously) if that will count towards the races you have to win to get certain upgrades for your car?

I did a parachute race alone just to see what it was and won. I think it counted.
