Somehow the clock went from 5pm to 5am.
I guess I can avoid quest glitches by doing none of them.
I'm 48 hours in and I see no end in sight to the piles and piles of raider camps that need killing. Along with settlement building.
The weather caused me some problems. I was on a floating boat raider camp in the fog. Damn waves kept messing with my shots.
See you tomorrow.

Yeah I have my fatman, but I used my one nuke when I ran into a pack of Super Mutants. Luckily I found that Missle Launcher in the Hospital area, couldn't of killed that Deathclaw without and I didn't want to leave the hospital without clearing it.

Okay about to start on new play on survival mode

Might have to get off normal. I absolutely raped a a skulled legendary alpha deathclaw. First sneak shot made him mutate and then it was the 5.56 assault rifle goodness. He took maybe 20% of my health with his little grab and punch move.
Would've been even worse with me and Piper in power armor.

I switched it to very hard early on then scaled back down to hard to easily finish main quest. I just wanted to power through main quest and then start over.

Medford Memorial
That was fun and plenty of good microscopes, bones cutters and other nice junk.
I think I proved you do keep the leftovers when using junk directly.
Go to a linked settlement.
Check the workshop and remove all items in it.
Then build something. You will immediately have leftover stuff added to your workshop in that settlement.
So it is using the junk to build then placing the remaining components in the workshop.

Never got the Medford meme. Was nothing but super mutants both times I cleared.

Depending on your strength it was a heck of a battle. Two legendary foes with tons of support and two nuke bombers.
I had fun.

question from someone who never played the other fallout games... why am I getting my arse handed to me on a regular basis?
I can't seem to find enough ammo to fight more than 1 or 2 enemies at a time.
I am trying to stay in the northern part of the map, but there isn't much shite up here to loot. all the good stuff are in the towns i come across, but I can't make it more than 5 minutes without a mutated troll or some shite fricking me up.
What should I focus on so as not to suck?

Are you still low level? Kinda rough in the beginning.
Try to sneak attack and execute critical in VATS.

I'm level 10. Is that considered pretty low for this game?
As far as sneak attacks, I swear I can be crouching and nowhere near the line of sight for an enemy and they still detect me. Hell, I'll be on the other side of the map in a town and I'll see some fricking ghouls running at me from the other side of town. I'm just like, how the frick did they even know I was here?

hmm idk. Im level 11 and things got a lot easier.
generally you don't want to take on too many things at once.
get Codsworth from sanctuary for a companion if you haven't.
use terrain / doorways to your advantage.
have multiple weapon types for all ammo
use shotgun in Close quarters
put perks points into combat related stuff if you haven't. Or ammo finding
save often and don't take fights you don't need to.

You need to pay attention to perks, they really help a lot. Upgrade your armor. Pick off enemies from a distance if possible. Aim for the head, especially on armored enemies. Use VATS when there are multiple enemies or a tough enemy.

I swear the ghouls have super sense of smelling or hearing.
Also I bought a submachine gun called spray n pray. The bullets explode on contact. It makes mince meat out of all ghouls

Sorry, dumb question I'm sure, but what are VATS?
Posted on 11/25/15 at 5:42 pm to Gnar Cat21

You on console? Press Left bumper when near an enemy.
Vault-tec assisted targeting system.
