So I played a ton over the wkd, 24+ hours and I am lvl 43 finally. Made it to the glowing sea last night, all of the other quests are random stuff/settlements. Has anyone done the Cabot House chain? I thought that was pretty fun. I still have not done much settlement building, guess I am not that much OCD on it lol.

I'm 160+ hours in at level 61 and I haven't even made it in to the institute yet
. I built the transporter but figured that would be a major transition point and decided to wait and do some exploring and side quests before going in.
What is everyone's favorite and most powerful weapon they use (non-mini nuke or missile launcher)? I have a Gauss sniper rifle that hits for 480+ damage. That's the highest I've been able to mod a weapon.
ETA: Its 441 damage, not 480+

I haven't even gotten to to the Institute yet, just started Railroad quests. I'm level 32 or 33

I still haven't had Institute spoilers yet, either. I was planning on going BOS just because they have so much badass armor and weapons and crap, but I don't like their zealotry and I don't think synths all need to die. I like Valentine way too much for that!
I need to progress the storyline more to really make a decision, I think.

Oh wow, you've got me way beat

Right now my highest damage comes from the Overseer's Guardian. I'm a few oils away from making it a .308 caliber and really pwning. I have yet to use a single mini nuke or missile.

I've been rolling with Grognak's axe (182 damage, staggers and causes bleeding damage) primarily, but my heated super sledge does 291 damage plus 62 heat damage.

I've recently switched to a double shot plasma gun or a gamma gun. I continue to lose some loot using those because the goo pile sometimes sinks into the earth.
Fatman & launcher are too heavy so I never use nukes or missiles.
Really only needed those in a few spots when I couldn't kill Behemoths with my standard weapons.
Now they cower at my feet.
To spare ammo, I use the Deliver on low level scum.
Shotgun comes out for scorpions and high level death claws. Just hit the deathclaws a few times in the leg so it can't move fast.

Just got the armor from the flame sword guy during the Finch Farm quest. I am primarily using a sniper rifle. The thing is a beast.

Has anyone found the submarine yet, someone at work just told me about it.
Posted on 12/23/15 at 11:22 am to DoUrden
I accidentally stumbled upon it exploring. Pretty neat.

The raider power armor?
Posted on 12/23/15 at 11:49 am to SundayFunday
Yeah. Super heavy and protects a lot.

Wish there were some really big battles so there would be a reason to use the artillery, flares and homing beacons for help.

Yeah the overseers guardian is a beast with .308. I have a .50 cal that also shoots an additional round but maxs out with a 10 round magazine. Also have a 10mm handgun version and a mini nuke version (big boy).

Wait until you get to Quincy. You'll use them then.

Although that was fun. It was at night so I didn't realize how much the shite was about to hit the fan.
I just happened to be wearing power armor and I have the medical upgrade. Without it, I would have been dead with all of those named folks, legendary folks and plasma attacks coming from every direction.
Some BOS people just happened to be there too, so I did get some help without having to signal. They all died though.
Man those vertibirds are nothing more than coffins. They get shot down way too easily.
One of them pissed off my settlement way down south in the swamp and they shot it down.

Plasma mines errywhere in Quincy
I didn't use any of them either. I haven't used any the entire game.
I'm happy I invested in the fortune finder perk to the max. I'm swimming in caps (20K+).
BTW, Macreedy's 95% VATS head shot companion perk is OP as frick.

Yeah, I've told people to avoid it early game.
Now, I am glad I have it so I can one shot everyone in the radiant quests while I gather stuff. Speeds those boring trips up.

I was up to about 80k but I've been using a lot of aluminum and circuitry so I had to start buying tons of junk and batch items.
Think I am down to 60k. Actually have more than that since caps don't pool from all settlements.

There were so many people running around when I entered Quincy, I think someone set them all off.
Trucks were blowing up, plasma blowing up everywhere. Nice!

80K???? Good lord
Did you use the unlimited cap glitch to get that high or no?

Na. I have all of the settlements and all have at least a Bar and a Trading shop.
After a few days of playing, I can stop by and pick up 850 to 1000 caps per settlement. So that is over 20k when I do a cap run. Maybe a little longer than a few days. Might be the first run of the weekend that I get that much.

I used to always have 0 caps. Then I invested in the perk that you find more caps, the perk that you find more ammo, and the scrapper perk.. Now I rarely buy ammo, I find lots more caps, and I rarely have to buy any materials. I only have ~$2k caps right now but I don't play nearly as much as I'd like to.
