Level 25! Took the castle back. About to start the railroad quests. Meeting Nick at the Memory Den sometime...he may be waiting a while.

Me too. I'm level 30 and was still finding stuff in Concord last night. Which was crazy to me because I've been OCD about searching everything.

I got the Nick mission... 10 levels later, "Oh yeah, I've got to meet this guy somewhere, right?"

If anyone hasn't done the Silver Shroud quest yet, I recommend doing so. shite is awesome.

Currently switching companions and getting their perks.
Just got Preston's perk. Already have Codsworth, Macready, and Cait.
Traveled with Danse for a long time and I don't think he ever hit me with his perk. Need to get that one soon because it appears I am about to really piss off the BOS.

What kind of perks do the companions give? I've been running solo with Dogmeat the whole time.

I would recommend waiting on Macready unless you want the game to be easy. His perk is bugged so you always get a Vats 95% Headshot from any distance with all weapons except shotgun.
Companion Perk Effect
Preston Garvey United We Stand +20% Damage and +20 damage Resistance against 3+ opponents
Codsworth Robot Sympathy +10 Damage resistance vs. Robotic Energy Weapons
MacCready Killshot +20% V.A.T.S headshot accuracy in theory, in reality much higher
Cait Trigger Rush Regenerate Action Points more quickly if health drops below 25%
Strong Berserk +20% Weapon Damage after dropping below 25% health
Deacon Cloak & Dagger +20% Sneak Attack damage, +40% Stealth Boy duration
Danse Know Your Enemy +20% Damage against Feral Ghouls, Super Mutants, Synths
Piper Gift of Gab Gain x2 XP for conversations and location discovery
Hancock Isodoped Gain 20% Damage when your rads are at 250 or more
Nick Valentine Close to Metal Gain 50% faster terminal cooldown and an extra guess when hacking terminals
Curie Combat Medic Once per 24 hours if you fall below 10% health you gain 100 HP
X6-88 Shield Harmonics +20 Energy Resistance

Nice. Thanks. I don't see anything that's must have for me except maybe the increased sneak attack or x2 XP for location discovery. I think I'll probably do the whole playthrough with Dogmeat.

Just finished the Dunwich Borers, that shite was intense. Took me several tries to even get inside, damn raiders with power armor and rocket launchers. Also took me a while to decide what the hell to do at the very end.

You have to do a certain quest in the BOS chain involving him in order to get his perk from what I've read (currently working on getting his perk myself).

Got my weapon and armor crafting up to level 3. Going to mod some before heading out. I need to give all my unused weapons and armor to settlers. I bet they hate me for hoarding.
Posted on 12/19/15 at 5:31 pm to Devious
Yeah I'm slowly going through the process of arming settlers as well.
I've been using modded up Deliverer and Kelloggs pistol. They synergize well together.
When above ground I use sniper rifles or ARs

Holy crap i just discovered this thread... My life is complete...Love the fallout series!
I am kinda struggling on who to side with... Ive done just a few quests for each (except institute) but done a whole lot with minutemen and leaning towards BOS/Mintutemen. Can you be in both? I read they kinda conflict? I havent finished the main story line yet

No idea about various factions.
BOS was mad that I didn't run home and tell them everything that happened when I entered the institute. They hit me up with a few quests to make up for my infraction but not sure I am going to do them.
I just looked up the settlement list and I am missing 3.
One is on an island and you need to really be careful setting up the supply line on that one since the water will kill your provisioner. Need to get him a rad suit, equip it, then send him to supply the island.
One is the slog. For some reason, Preston has never sent me on a quest to help them even though I have done a zillion settlement quests.
Then there is a small marina I missed.
I did find the workshop in the Boston airport but you can't get food or water. Evidently you are just supposed to use the spot for a quest. Pisses me off because you have a giant flat slab. You could easily build the best most defensible structure there.

Where do you find enough ammo for Kellogg's pistol? I rarely ever use because of limited rounds.

I wish there was an easy way to dismiss or redirect supply lines.
I want to set it up in one direct line from A to Z.
Right now people all over the place are going all over the place.

I mainly use the 44 when I run into bad guys that take a ton of hits to the head to kill. Then I break out the 44.
I mainly roll with a laser that hits 168 plus it freezes on critical.
For shelled opponents I used my shotgun that does limb damage.
I also use Deliverer a lot. On lower level areas, I mainly use that. Most ghouls get 1 shot by it unless way down south.
Posted on 12/19/15 at 6:03 pm to illuminatic
Yeah that is a problem. I usually only use it to finish off skull or legendary enemies with headshot crits.
Damn ammo is rarer than fusion cores.
Some vendors sell it in limited quantities

I must have started with a much higher luck than you guys or I am more anal about searching every nook and cranny because I've never had an ammo problem.
Now I never used the 44 as a main weapon because it is slow.
I did get low many times with the shotgun, then I must have hit some lucky areas and my shotgun ammo shot up.
I never used a point on the ammo perk but I do have 10 luck with a couple points boost from armor items.
