Locked Doors - Mosaic Pieces and occasionally shards in outdoor half collapsed buildings.
Dragons (possible spoiler but not story related) - Once your Rift ability gets upgraded, Mark of Death the Dragon then drop the upgraded rift on it. It nearly triples the time the Mark is up. Able to do 26k dmg marks using myself (dagger rogue), Dorian doing barrier, Cassandra standing in front taking 0 dmg while she eats a sandwich, and Varric standing back and dpsing.

FWIW, I haven't found anything of value behind locked doors. Maybe 2 or 3 blues that weren't worth using.
I admit it is irrational. Although I do think some of the puzzle pieces / wine bottles are in locked areas.

They are, but the chances of me finding them all is pretty slim anyway.

Along with some of the items for inner circle quests, like warden items.

I started up a mage. I know I don't want Necro, what's all the love for KE?

Honestly, it's somewhat game breaking.
Part of the tree allows you to recharge your barrier with each hit of the spirit blade.
A KE can, literally, solo every dragon in the game if you play it right.
I specced that way, but only did that trick at the very end against corypheus's dragon.

You can get any tank over 300 armor. Focus on const/health because that's the basis for the barrier, give them a weapon with 5 barrier per hit on it. Make sure they have the taunt ability. Laugh while DPSing safely. Or go make her another sandwich

Does this work on insane? Dragons were 1 hitting mages on hard.

If the dragon can one hit you while you have a full barrier, then no it won't work. But if you have any bit of barrier left, and can hit them a few times before they get their 2nd hit in, your barrier will be recharged by then.
Wash, rinse, repeat.

Add in chaotic focus, fire mine + searing glyph, and fade shield and you have quite a powerful spell as well. You get 1600% weapon damage plus a dot which totals to 1600% from fire mine and searing glyph. The damage is further increased by chaotic focus which takes away 50% of your barrier to increase the damage done by fire spells. Your barrier is then regained because of fade shield which generates barrier from damage done.

I broke down and bought this. $40 is just too tempting. Amazon is out of stock until Christmas so I won't play for a while.

You're getting a lot of game for $40. Take a COD campaign and multiply it by about 20 at least and that's what you are getting.

90-100 hours for a complete playthrough getting everything... so thats less than 50 cents per hour of entertainment. Incredible deal imo.

Has anyone played multiplayer yet?

I'm going rogue next time, but on hard I've used this build and it's stupid. I haven't taken damage from something other than a fall in quite some time. Against most stuff I just spam spirit blade. Bigger things, Fade Cloak and Fire Mine keep the barrier up with help from spirit blade. If it's a big group, toss in some immolate as well. Once I find some Fade Touched Obsidian to add Guard to the mix...yikes.

It's been a long time since I played a game that long. I'm looking forward to it though.

Le sigh. To origins or inquisition? That is my plight.

Fade touched Obsidian is good for the others but main needs Fade touched Silverite for On Hit: 5 guard per hit.
Guard on hit is really what makes KE way overpowered.
Any suggestions of class/build for my next run through?
I've played some multiplayer, it's okay. You get your arse kicked for hours until you finally get a decent weapon for a character you have access to. You craft pieces of armor to gain access to different classes. MP proves more intense gameplay, and it's made better when you play at higher levels.
