Diablo 2 lod developed a free market economy based on “hrs” or high runes which were more or less the vex-Zod runes.

Just think of 1 hr as the gold standard within the game.

Eventually everything will have an approximate hr trading price if it doesn’t already.

I have to make myself stop playing this game. If I didn’t, I would be pulling all nighters like I did in summer of high school playing

Does it seem like decent runes are dropping at a higher rate with the new game?

Not for me. Highest rune that has dropped for me has been a Lem. I got a gul from hellforge quest though.

Yes, I'm a Hammerdin without enigma so I target bosses that I dont need to run too far.

Travincal bosses are always right by the WP so its a good spot for me. Quick easy in and easy out. On hell they can drop lots of good items.

I also do the frigid highlands, there is always a boss group just north of it and just south of the WP.

Pindleskin is another quick easy one, through Anya's portal, though sometimes depending on his affixes it can be tough for a hammerdin in the tight corridor.

Mephisto is probably the best boss overall to farm but you really need to be able to teleport to make it worth while.

Diablo is good if you can't teleport because River of Flame/Chaos Sanctuary is a level 85 zone meaning it can drop any item in the game. So I don't mind having to walk from the WP. Makes it much more valuable time wise. Durance of Hate, the way to Meph is only 70ish so running and killing monsters there can't yield as many top items. However Meph can drop almost anything in the game, so once you get to him he's great for farming. Great spot for sorceresses to farm.

ETA: Even if you're in NM, Meph has a great drop table. The best drop rate in the game for Stone of Jordan (SOJ) is actually in NM, Andariel to be exact.

If you're looking to see if a boss can drop a particular item or what the chance is this Drop calculator is very helpful. You can sort by either the exact monster or by the item you want to find.

You're definitely going to want COH for Uber mephisto. He has conviction aura which will lower your resistances significantly. I'm not a pro Uber runner or anything but based what I've seen that's pretty much the consensus. I think you could also get items with absorb damage to counter act his aura but don't quote me on that.

Side note I traded that Shako for a Vex rune and I got my HOTO. I'm so stoked though I'm probably going to regret it. I didn't have the resistances to wear it so I sold it while it was worth more.

In a couple weeks I can get one for a Pul rune if I don't find another by then.

If you can get a couple torches you can easily trade them for a sur rune and make a bur.

A really nice Storch would go for a Ber I'd think.

Sometimes it's hard to guage the rune price because everyone just looks at how much something is FG wise and don't just trade for rune currency.
