I saw they reduced the damage you do on burn modifiers but not the damage the ai does.

That's because your new armor will provide more protection from certain burns.

Yes, once TTK drops Tuesday, the Vanguard Quartermaster will let you exchange your old materials for the new stuff.

Awesome. Leveling has been so easy. It's almost irrelevant at this point.

Yeah, they made a concerted effort to put a stop to everyone's worries about what level you are and instead focus on just finding your loot and having options for your build. I definitely like this system a lot more.

Well, that's true and not. The armor and weapons you have equipped contribute to your overall light level. For example I was playing the nightfall this week and it's "recommended light level" was 160. When I had all 170 armor (previously 34) and half 170/160 weapons I think I was around 165ish.
So light will still be important but it won't directly control your overall Level. But it will contribute damage and armor.

Yeah, but what I meant was that they changed the fact that one pair of boots would keep you a forever 29 and you'd be doing 33% less damage every time you faced a level 30 enemy. Of course the values matter, but it's not crippling any more.

How serious do you guys in the clan take this stuff? I am interested in joining if you are recruiting, and my buddy will likely join too in that case.
I just started playing a few months ago. Have a 34 Warlock as my primary and a 32 Titan. Haven't completed any raids or beaten 34/35 POE yet. Old clan was douche-loaded at over 80 members that never fricking played, and we have few friends in our unit (we are in the USAF) that play this on PS4. Also we are in the Pacific time zone. We play fairly often as we both have desk jobs.
Both of us want to get the raids done very soon, once TTK comes out, simply for story line purposes. Up to you guys, no hard feelings if you say no.
