You can see the loosest of connections between the two occasionally, but plot isn't a strong focus in either game.

I would say no.

Some of the game concepts are similar, but it would just be like playing DS1 fro the first time...you pretty much know nothing.

I feel that item and soul descriptions are lacking in this one.

No but the first one can be bought for cheap, so you can see if you like the series enough to justify dropping 60 for the 2nd one.

its what I did...dark souls 1 is great. But Its not for everyone.

Im at sl54, and have been leveling int and attn so I can use enhancement buffs. This is a good idea right? Like crystal magic weapon and shite like that.

It's tricky. If you're a melee character and want to use great/crystal magic weapon, I wouldn't put more than 25 into int. It will allow you to utilize the buffs, anymore than that will be diminishing returns if you're not doing a sorcerer build.

Also, stay under Sif and spam him with pyro. Roll towards his attacks if you get out if his range

O&S is the most difficult of those. F those guys. Finally summoned corndog as his glass cannon for an assist.

4k was a breeze. Took me 2 tries to beat them

Gwyn was a bastard. Gotta learn his timing, even if u can parry pretty well

You can solo them, but it's a fight meant for co-op, really. I usually summon Brolaire and have him run interference while I cut down Orny. Proceed to cheese Smough while you've got him behind a pillar. Then amazing chest ahead.

The dark wood grain ring makes it much easier, too. If you don't mind your character flipping around like a fig.

I'm sure their is some kind of ring similar to the dark grain wood ring in DS2.

I'm sure, a lot has been crossed over. I'm amazed at the armor and weapons I see some phantoms wearing around the bonfires.

Maybe next time you'll think twice before bragging about the ease of the anor Londo archers

Silver Knights are great for parrying. Have fun with pikachu and snorlax.

I see a lot of different armor types as well, however, I have not found many different armor sets yet. Same for weapons as well.

It seems with this one that they either placed a lot of weapon types and armor sets deeper into the game or they are just harder to find. I'm still using the bastard sword, haven't found anything better yet.

I've found a pretty good amount if armor sets.

Alva Armor
Armor of Arous (Sp? Invisible Armor)
Vangarl's Armor
Drangleic Armor

Just to name a few. Then you have all of the non-specialty basic sets dropped by enemies.

Mammoth Armor
Gyrm Armor
Elite Knight
Etc.

There might be some special sets that we haven't discovered yet, but I think there is a pretty good amount of armor sets available.

Maybe I'm just not as far into the game yet as I thought I was.

I do have the Drangleic Armor and the Elite Knight. The Vangarl's sounds familiar but not sure if I have it. I did find a cool helmet in the fog.
