Yeah ive been reading a walkthru. Trying to expedite the process so I can move onto ds2. Game is still plenty tough and rewarding.

Were you hollow? The phantoms won't spawn if you are hollow.
Protip: IDK if you made it thru Darkroot Garden yet, but you will want to be human to summon some help for the boss. It's not necessary, but it's just easier, if you're in to that sort of thing

Yeah ive been summoning npcs for bosses. That caster made the butterfly a breeze
just got the peculiar doll from undead asylum. Never would of found that crows nest without a walkthru hah.
