I usually do better going solo. I summoned somone for the fun of it and they were instakilled, and I'm left to contend with the boss that has more HP.

Had my first significant playing time last night. My initial thoughts are this is much harder than Dark Souls. 4-5 hours in and I have died probably 50 times or so and I'm still in one of the first areas. Stuck at the first boss right now. Took me awhile to get on my feet, every time I would get enough souls to level up or buy something I would lose them.
The weapons degrading is a bitch. At one point all I had to fight with was a dagger. Finally was able to get a shield and repair my sword, starting to make some headway now.

And I have learned the consequences of accidentally finalizing my character during the creation screen at the beginning. I am a woman. Doesn't make a difference really but every time I die (which is a lot) I have to hear her womanly screams. I don't wanna go out like that.

I've been really trying to play but just haven't been able to focus on it like I want. I may have to wait until my wife and daughter are out of town in a couple weeks to really do much
