It probably won't be as well received as DS. Given what I've seen from streams, there is some there to criticize but it will still be very good.

I've avoided watching anything other than trailers. I want no spoilers.
Was DS hyped up when it released? I didn't hear much about it till it was recommended by Carson and I got it for like 10-15 $

I'm guessing it will be from increased difficulty. From what I have heard you can no longer cheese your way through easy backstabs, and expect brief moments of immortality when in an animation sequence. From what I hear the enemies are smarter, and adjust to your attacks. To me, that is both scary as frick, and absolutely an improvement from a realism standpoint.
Honestly if they are able to just make multi-player a little less of a bitch, I'll be more than happy. Hopefully dedicated servers will enhance the mp experience.

Same here. And no, I don't think so. It was hyped from everyone who played and loved Demon's Souls (which I still haven't finished), but it really took off. The re-playability of DkS makes it almost the perfect game.
