Beat Curse-rotted greatwood and got the ring that gives you back HP with successive hits, ala Bloodborne.

Just starting. Going with assassin

I died one time on the great wood and then stopped for the night. Got a lot done.
This game is definitely like a mega mash up of BB, DS, DkS1 and DkS2. It's like the best of all the games in one.
I ADORE the speed of it. Everyone is saying it's because they used the bloodborne engine. Idk if that's true but I'm so glad the combat in general feels more "twitchy" and fast paced. Much more my forte than the often slow DkS1

The weapon art for the Estoc is amazing.

It's definitely not Bloodborne, but it has by far the most polished, satisfying Souls gameplay.

Have fun in Farron Keep, boys.

I'm to the undead settlement. I haven't had a lot of time to play. Can't wait for the weekend.
It definitely feels like a hybrid dark souls 1/Bloodborne game which I love.
Fire long sword carrying me through the fire part with ease.

After playing BB on realease and just getting through DkS2, I just picked it up on the way home, I couldnt resist. It plays/looks/feels a lot like BloodBorne to me but waaaay better. I hope the level design changes a bit as I get further bc the levels in the beginning with all the coffins everywhere and just the look of it all feel a lot like BB.
That said, I am enjoying it a lot so far, just played 2 hours of it as the Merc with the twin blades. I infused them with the burial gift fire gem for now. I'm LOVING the gameplay and graphics. SO glad I pulled the trigger, I was going to wait till after UC4.

Herald starting spear sucks balls.
And those infinite stamina sword and shield knights suck even more balls.

Well my first time playing dark souls...
Is there not a face randomizer? I did not want to have to do all that tweaking.
The game definitely takes some getting used to. I probably need to turn down the control sensitivity a bit as I felt a bit out of control at times.
You have to be super patient in this game which takes some getting used to.

I made it to Vordt of the Boreal Valley last night, tried him once, got him to 40%, died, and went to sleep. I guess the next time I will be able to play the game is Saturday afternoon, but it's great

Going to pick it up after work today, can't wait. How different is it from DS2? I liked DS2 but it just didn't pull me in like DS1. I didn't even continue it into NG+.

I'm really really not that far into the game, but it feels expansive again, much more like DS1 than DS2. Shortcuts have already popped up in 3 places as the area wraps around on itself.
The gameplay is like a hybrid of BB and DS1 - it's a great game so far, and going with a 2 handed stamina build actually feel pretty natural early on: which is not something I would say about DS1.

It's loads different from DS2 IMO. It feels more like DS1 with the level design and the combat feels eerily similar to bloodborne, that's probably because it uses the same engine.
DS2 feels almost like it's own game rather than a Souls game compared to this and DS1.
The only thing about DS2 I liked better (Because i played the remastered ps4 version) is that it ran 60fps. The framerate on the PS4 struggles sometimes. After playing that super fluid 60fps DS2 it's quite jarring at first.
But the gameplay, overall graphics and atmosphere makes up for it pretty quickly.

It's like Dark and Demon's combined with elements of Bloodborne. I just unlocked the first elevator at High Wall and it's very similar to 1-1 and 1-2 of Demon's.
I'm expecting a lot of fan service throughout this journey

Abyss Watchers is a top ten fight for me.

I am really enjoying it so far. I wont spoil it but I just beat a boss that is sort of similar to the rat mobs boss in DS2 and now I'm not sure where to go so I am going to back track.

Being a merc with the twin blades scimitars I'm wondering if infusing them with the burial gift fire gem was a bad idea, it took the base dps down by 5 points and added the fire damage, but it looks like infusing with fire took all scaling off. Is there a way to strip the infused element off weapons? I think I made a mistake, I'd rather put fire on something other than my main weapon, and those twin scimitars are amazing.
