Is this related to Sirris? Or is there some requirement that has never bothered me?
Overall really disappointing to see no PvP balance changes (POISE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

I'm pretty sure it does. They'll probably change it so that you can at least offer a pale tongue without her getting pissed and it fricking up her questline. That's what fricked me over and forced me into NG+3 for the platinum.

Yeah locking Respec'ing behind fricking up a questline made no sense to me.
Just give Respec to Aldritch's Faithful or whatever. No reason I should have to choose between the only covenant to offer respecs and the only quest that cares whether you join a covenant.

And Sirris has the best questline in the game.

Took off Flynn's ring after reading this.
Beat two more bosses they barely provided any challenge whatsoever, I'm guessing I'm just over leveled at 47.
Wolnir and Deacons. At least at Wolnir I died a few times getting one-shotted with the fog. The deacons were more like a mob then a boss.

Got to Dancer last night and fought her / him a few times, it was fun. Was really surprised how much it was hitting me for, so I went to look at the recommended level.... I'm 15 levels under leveled
see this is why I don't have to do NG+ in souls, I put myself through torture just for the fun of it for some reason
ETA: If you remember I did the exact same thing in Bloodborne a few months ago.. what is wrong with me?!?!

I did that with Bloodborne as well. I never spent enough time farming echoes.
Well I certainly farmed souls this go around on my first 3-4 days of release and it seems to be paying off in dividends. We will see once I hit the more tough late game bosses (just hit the Bordal Valley which looks amazing with the snow.)

So do you guys read online and learn about all these quest lines and game endings or do you figure them out yourself? I don't think I would ever figure most of these out by myself.
I have just gotten to Boreal Valley so I decided to run back to a few areas just to try and get a few items I couldn't figure out how to reach at the time. Quickly realized I completely forgot about the tower in the Undead Settlement where you first meet Seigmeir the Onion Bro so I went up top and cleared that area out. So I completely missed his quest line. Then I just realized the guy I killed in Smouldering Lake was the knight that was with Anri. Still early in the game and I already completely missed 2 NPC quest lines. I don't think I want to know how much other stuff I have missed already.

My blind playthrough I fricked up every single NPC quest line. I abandoned the character, and started over. And I still almost fricked up Anri's quest.

I literally missed every quest line I could. Even that dude that gives you 5 levels. He just died.

Yea, that pissed me off for a bit before I learned he died regardless. I was like there is no way I fricked something up this early! I hadn't done anything yet!
My game was all sorts of messed up last night. Was trying to beat the crystal sage and just couldn't do it. The first time she would split into three, I'd instantly die. All their attacks went straight through walls/columns so there was no hiding. When I went out into the open to hit the main one, I got hit by all three at once. Then, all of a sudden, I went in and tried one last time. Hit her twice and she died
. Definitely something funky going on there

oh he's suppose to die, and you didn't get 5 levels for free, he took your humanity from you as price for doing business

Yea, I hate how the game gives you no explanation of what that is about. I only did it once before he died. And also I have the option for the fire keeper to heal the dark sigil. No idea what that means or what it will do so I'm scared to do something I'll regret.
Glad I'm not the only one then. Guess I'll stay in the dark this playthrough and read online for my 2nd playthrough.

You can heal the dark sigil (the souls cost goes up every level you level up)
Before that, you need to buy something from the NPC that stands next to Londor after he dies to cure hollowing.
If you do these two things you will not hollow anymore. There is a dark sigil secret ending though, that involves hollowing.
(my price to heal the sigil is at 70k souls :lol)

I did a blind play through and progressed a few of the quests half-way but it is nearly impossible to complete them blind.
I then just read all the spoilers and am going back to see all the content. I'm bouncing off my second playthrougu quite hard though.

If you do this, the chick that replaced Yoel when he died will get pissed and leave. But you can still buy her items if you kill her and bring the ash to the shopkeeper.
It will also change your ending. I'm not sure to which one.

Well Yoel has been dead for quite some time and I never had a chick replace him.

You had to have gotten 5 dark sigils from him. You get them by doing the free level ups at different stages of hollowing.
If you get to the Catacombs before getting 5 sigils, he just dies and the quest line is fricked
