Anyone been doing any PvP? I haven't tried it yet but after watching some duels on YouTube today, it has me pumped to try it. I'm curious if the matchmaking got any better. I know they had some issues earlier.

I invaded a bunch of times at Mergo's Loft, before the boss. The amount of people that commit suicide or die to the enemies before you can find them is amusing.

i was showing my buddy how the sinister bell works in Cainhurst and got invaded. we bowed and he ran straight at me. Shot, visceral, one shot
i had to convince him "it's usually more exciting than that"

Do all your side quests before knocking out Byrgenwerth

What side quests and how do I activate them

Eileen the Crow, chapel/clinic recruitment, etc

I think I got the recruitment, what is Eileen the crow

You'll have to wait until NG+.
You have to talk to Eileen before the Cleric Beast. Her side quest is the most confusing.

I cannot beat Rom. This is the only boss I've had to repeatedly attempt over and over.

In Central Yharnam, head to the sewers but look to the right and you'll see a stack of breakable barrels - roll through them and stay to the right and you'll see a wooden walkway - Eileen's first location will be here. Talk to her and exhaust her dialogue.
After Gascoigne, head to the Cathedral and light the lamp and warp to the hunter's dream and back. Head back to Gascoigne's boss area from the Cathedral and you'll see her fighting a hunter NPC; help her kill the NPC and exhaust her dialoge.
After beating Rom, head to the grand catherdal and you'll see her on the steps - talk to her and kill the NPC in Amelia's boss room - head back and talk to her again. She'll give you the crow hunter's badge.

Or..... Let Henryk kill her in the graveyard fight like I did.

Gotta open the gate at the top of the stairs to get her to appear, I think. Just got to cathedral ward and she's not outside

It took me about 7 times to beat him, which was by far the most.
Obviously you want to try and get as many hits on him as you can before the first teleport. Kill all the spiders and you can easily hit him. Make sure you also hit him while he is teleporting.
The next phase I would also recommend working on the spiders. It makes life a lot easier once they are dead. Because I was focusing on the spiders I couldn't see Rom. When he does any attack it starts making a noise....as soon as I hear that noise I select him and start rolling sideways which usually, but not always allows the ice rocks to miss me. If you are close enough to him it is ice that comes up from the ground and also his shockwave thing, which are pretty easy to avoid while just trying to hit spiders. On the last few tries I actually tried to stay just inside the imaginary line where he uses his ground ice/shockwave attack instead of aerial, this makes it easy once you hear the noise to start rolling away.
Once the spiders are dead I just roll in for a few hits and back off while he does his ground attack thing. Third teleport...rinse repeat. On the third teleport he flails around if you are close enough...so just go in for a couple hits and back off.

Nice which team are you again?
And yeah for sure. I'm yet to successfully co op with someone so you'd have to help me out with it, but I'm definitely down to try it.

I beat him about 10 mins after I posted that.
I used oil urns, the flame sprayer and fire paper. I figured out the pattern to dodge those ice missiles. Quick stepping left then right two times makes them miss every time if timed properly. Once he started flopping around it was hard to get in close so I finished him off with a few molotovs.

For Rom i was trying to work on the small spiders first, but once I started just running it at him and constantly dodging the small spiders, it's much easier to take him out staying close and not even worrying about the flying ice

Rom was easy, I beat him on my second try without much trouble. I completely ignored the little spiders and just kept running to him and jumping to his back/side to hit him. I jumped back when he started charging up the pbaoe attack to avoid it.

I was invaded for the first time last night in Nightmare Frontier. The invader was standing on high ground when I turned a corner and I froze from shock for a moment since this was the first time a player had been in my game. He bowed and pointed out a monster behind me. He waited for me to kill it and then we squared up, bowed and had a legit duel with no healing. I got straight wrecked but it was fun as shite and cool how my first invader was an "honorable" one. Such an awesome community that plays this game.
My second one was a douche that teamed up with 2 NPCs and didn't even give me a chance to gather myself but that's expected to happen.
