So I was playing BF3 and my power went out about 5:30 yesterday due to the weather. Went down the road and looked and 6 fricking poles had been snapped in half. The poles ran through a low arse creek and the linemen were taking their sweet arse time fixing it all. They had one fricking truck out there for the first few hours then finally got a few more trucks out there working on the shite. Needless to say it was a mess and took them forever to fix. Didn't get power on until about 1AM.
TL;DR version is power went out for over 8 hours and I was GD bored sitting here in the fricking dark.

I drained the batteries on both my laptops one after the other last night watching DVDs on them.

At least the power is back on now. But I know that feeling. It sucks when the power goes out and there is nothing to do.

I was trying sniping around the perimiter on sharqi. Got a few kills and sweat came after me. I went to go jump off a balcony and at the same time he knifed me so the game glitched, I got a kill and stuck in the wall. He was mad.

What kind? Like natural gas generators that are permanently hooked and you just hit the transfer switch? Or are they gasoline ones you have to hook up then hit the switch?
I have two gasoline ones though I have no transfer switch. I didn't hook any of them up cause I was out of gas and didn't feel like fighting all of that in the shite we were getting hit with.

I have a 4400 and a 5500 gasoline powered. The electrician is supposed to come put an RV plug on my switch but the cord for the generator is hard wired in right now and hanging on the transfer switch. It's enough to power some stuff for us and keep the TV, lights and fans running.

OK. I have been meaning to get the same thing set up here for my two generators.
My uncle has a set up like this and can run his whole house pretty much.
It's nice but not cheap for that kind of set up.

I actually am considering that. One of my clients owns the largest power company in the state and has offered one to me at cost.

If you do don't short yourself. I mean get a big enough one to run the freezers, fridge, main part of the house, etc.

Good idea. I'm putting in a theater/media room upstairs and a crafts room for my wife. It will have it's own AC and shite eventually. So I should probably wait until that is all done and will know what I need.
