Thinking about getting one. Those who have a switch, would you recommend it? Pros and cons?

I bought it just for Zelda and Mario.

So yes.

The fact that it is portable and you can play the Nintendo titles are enough of a reason for me to say it’s worth it

I also have an Xbox one. The price of the switch is such that you don’t have to break the bank to get it even if it won’t be your primary console.

You’ll probably be addicted to it the first couple months and binge on it and then start mixing your others systems in with again

There are some hardware and accessory cons that are a nuisance but not enough to dissuade. The game prices tend to stay elevated for a while which sucks

My only concern would be that it’s almost a given that in 2019 Nintendo is making a change to the switch and without knowing exactly what that change would be it is hard to say if it is worth getting it now or waiting until 2019. Is probably lean towards now though and get in before the Black Friday deals

If you like video games in general, yes. There are experiences that are only available on the switch. If you like video games because you like FPS, Open Worlds, and Sports Games, no.

Pros

Portability is huge if you have a traveling job. Nintendo AAA's will almost completely be represented on it by the end of 2019. Solid Indie Lineup, and it's getting even better.

New, innovative games that you may not have played like Splatoon and Arms.

Better versions of some Indie Games, and portable indie games. Toilet Enter the Gungeon? Yes, please.

Cheap online service

cons?

Cheap online service.

It misses a good portion of the "modern" Quality of Life improvements of other consoles.

Is not truly Multiplayer Friendly.

Missing Biggest AAA 3rd Party Games

Missing most sports games

Missing 4k graphics if that's important

Stock controllers for some people are rough

----

In the end if you like video games, because you like video games, it's almost a no brainer. It's becoming the best portable device of all time honestly. Mix that with having a release of every major first party Nintendo games and you really can't beat it.

Mario Odyssey and Breath of the Wild are two of the best games to come out in probably the last 10 years, while having Mario Party, Splatoon 2, Smash Bros. etc.

Nintendo games are often unmatched in polish, presentation, and pure accessibility. And some have very high skill caps, like Splatoon, Smash and Arms.

I have an Xbox 1 and the Switch gets 90% of my play time. Through in the great multiplayer games like all the indies, Jackbox, and Nintendo stuff like Arms, Mario Party and Snipperclips and it's my go to local Multiplayer entertainment as well.

It has like no games that are console-quality in my opinion, but the library is slowly expanding to have more

You have to be in love with no Nintendo IP and the option to play older games portable.

If it's your only console, you're going to be missing out on a lot.
