It won't be able to run Witcher 3 and GTA5 but I can see it running rocket league and a few next gen games.

This will probably be the line drawn. The ultra high budget big games, probably not (although the Square Enix stuff could mean the FF7 remake...).
I think the lack of EA whoring out for any sports games in this video is a bad sign honestly. You know they'd try to put FIFA or Madden on this. If they aren't....ugh.

Yea the GTA with weaker graphics. Doubt it could run the current GTA

It's not like ps4 or xb1 run gta at max settings either. It's probably somewhere in between the ps3 and ps4 version depending on if it uses a regular x1 or a pascal x1.

Ports are about power, but also architecture right?
If the architecture is at least more modern, maybe we start to see down-porting again, which would be fine by me.

It's kind of in that weird boat where it can be considered both a portable system and a home console. There are plenty of first and third party games released for the 3DS. If Nintendo is able to replicate that with the Switch then I think it'll be a success. If devs treat it like an underpowered console or glorified Android tablet, I think it will be less than successful.
I still don't know why Nintendo doesn't release a console in the same vein as Microsoft and Sony. I think all anyone really wants is the ability to play Mario and Zelda on the same system that plays all the third party games. They haven't really had that since the SNES days.

People keep saying that but when was the last time they tried? The N64 and GameCube were close but Nintendo went out of there way to make most multiplats undesirable on those consoles. I couldn't imagine playing Mortal Kombat with that N64 controller or Tony Hawk on the GameCube.
Gimmicks like the Wii and Wii U aren't necessarily bad, but just don't sacrifice hardware power.

Probably true but it is my dream also.
Not really let down because this is what was expected. But this console does not interest me at all. If I am not at home, I am not playing games.
I doubt it will sell great unless the price point is low. Of course it will sell if it plays 3DS games.
I hope they can get some 3rd party support this go around.

She doesn't seem to mind the iPad every night now, don't see how it'll be different. I am somewhat of an insomniac and it takes me around an hour to slow down enough to fall asleep so I watch twitch or documentaries to ratchet the brain down. She sleeps just fine.

Gamecube. I'm not saying it isn't possible but it wouldn't be a safe bet they could win that battle especially with their poor 3rd party relationships. They also just aren't interested in doing what the others wants. If they did that then just go 3rd party and get the same result. I'm not so sure the market needs 3 big hardware manufacturers doing the same thing.

I will probably wait and see about buying it. If it has good 3rd party support or replaces the 3ds I will buy it.

And I'll take the Gamecube controller over the Dualshock 2 any day.
Regardless, Nintendo can't compete head on with MS or Sony by producing an almost identical system to theirs. I know I wouldn't be nearly as excited about the Nintendo Switch if it was basically a PS4 Pro with Nintendo games and crappy online functionality, because we know that's one thing Nintendo has never done well at.
