Doing a good bit of air travel and my daughter never takes her switch so I think I ay give it a shot. Was hoping for a golf game (something in career mode) but from what I can tell there isn't really anything like that worth a crap.

Does anyone have any recs for something more geared towards a small kid that can be played offline without losing a ton of loss in experience?

Most of the big games don't require internet. I would think a small kid would be good with the Mario titles... Super Mario 3d world, Super Mario Odyssey, Super Mario U Deluxe, Super Mario 3d Allstars.

I literally just started up Breath of the Wild for the first time in years last night in anticipation of TotK. I'm gonna sink a ton of hours into this... again.

Not sure about requiring a live connection but a lot of the digital downloads require you to “check in” every so often while playing them to verify your credentials.

I would try to stick to games on card as a result.

Six year old and I have been working on 100% to play Champion's Road. We've had a blast the last couple of weeks.

Me and the kids have really enjoyed playing these games together in co-op mode:
Lego games, Luigi's Mansion, Mario Odyssey, Super Smash Brothers.

The kids also like the following single player games:
Animal Crossing, Disney Dreamlight Valley, Miitopia, Pokemon Sword.

It's absolutely brutal. I went back to one of the early levels to get 999 lives after attempting a few times. I don't know how many times I died, but I'm confident it was in the 100's.

Not sure if Mario Kart 8 requires active connection, but it is heaps of fun.
