Sony’s been doing this shite for 30 years. It’s always some excuse

Well their excuse is that the demand isnt slowing and the chip shortage isn't going away. They are doing a better job than anyone else of gettin the chips based on sales numbers.

Are they taking the PS4 backward compatibility out

Bet they keep it, development platform from PS4 till today is basically the same. The PS2 to PS3 was just a massive change and required extra hardware to run

I refuse to believe the original version exists. I don't know a single person who has found one.

Are they taking the PS4 backward compatibility out like they did for the PS3? First Gen PS3 was able to play PS2 games. They made the system cheaper by taking that out. I hope thats not the case, my PS4 library is huge and my PS4 is on its last leg.

No

The PS5 is basically a PS4 with better hardware. It's like upgrading a PC.

The PS2 and PS3 were totally different machines, and hte PS2 emulation it did have was crap anyway.

I was able to get 3 on launch day. (gave two to friends).
It almost seems like it got harder for people who didn't try very early on.
