Looking to upgrade to a 1440 monitor. Anybody really like theirs or have any suggestions? The more research i've done into the reviews, the more varied the opinions get.

Price point i'm pretty flexible on as long as the price is justifiably more than other options. I don't think my system would be able to get to 240hz so probably not much use getting one that high, so probably looking in the 165hz range.

I know I’m becoming a broken record on this, but:

Do you only game or do any color specific productivity work? What games do you play, and at what settings? Single player or competitive?

And yeah, flexible price point, but what do you want to spend?

My two brothers and I have been using the 27" Acer Predator (1440p, 165 Hz, gsync) for a couple of years. The only thing it's missing is HDR.

We have the original model (XB1). Looks like the newer model (XB273U) has HDR and 270 Hz.

Only gaming, play competitive mostly Destiny 2. Playing Halo now, battlefield, some COD, and sports games here and there, but not terribly worried about the monitor for the sports games.

Price wise under $700 and I don't really care. A little over that and if I can justify it, don't have a problem. Also, not interested in the curved monitors.

I have seen this a few times form different people. Is this what you are using?

ETA: I did see that the LG 27GP850-B is on sale for basically the same price as the 83. Would you still go with the 83?

Getting a 240 is still good for future proofing yourself.

After watching vid reviews I ordered two of these from gamestops black friday sale.

gamestop

240hz, 1ms response time. 27" and has gsync and HDR

get the GP850 then. never seen it priced that low, it's usually closer to $500. Very similar monitors but GP850 is newer and slightly better.

I run a 4k monitor but I bought a GL83 for $279 several months ago. Still in the box, just have it as a spare bc the price was so good. I had the GL850 (the GP850's predessor) and loved it, but wanted to move to 4K

Yea the GP850 is going for $376 right now, which is what the 83 is as well, as far as I can find. Both looked really good. Thanks for the help.

If you're curious about differences

GL83 - Same as GL850, but lacking some ports and wide color gamut. 83A has the normal sRGB color coverage

<

GL850 - Original. 1440p/144hz, extremely low latency

<

GP850 - A refresh of the GL850, basically identical but with overclocked panel . 1440/165hz, 400 nits instead of 350.

You're getting the best monitor of the bunch for the same non-sale price as the worst of the bunch. Pretty stellar.
