They'll probably leave gameplay basically the same with a few minor tweaks here, balance the guns, and just update the graphics. They will probably implement a more updated and refined matchmaking and lobby system too. The one thing that blew about cod4 was the game ending when the host left but I'm sure they'll have that fixed. Now if they would somehow integrate MW2 and 4's weapon/maps into one package that would be incredible. But knowing COD nowadays, it's not gonna happen and even if it did they would probably charge about $100 extra for it

Some interesting points

My concern instead stems from how Activision plans on handling the multiplayer component of the revamped title on newer consoles. As anyone that has popped in on the original game lately can attest, the gameplay has evolved substantially within the CoD franchise in the years proceedings MW‘s release, and many longtime fans would have to readjust to the older style of play. Even then, would the Infinity Ward-developed classic be released warts and all, or would advancements be made to modernize it outside of some basic polish?
Many are sure to be wondering if such a game would feature additions such as character customization, point streaks, etc., and that’s certainly something that could happen. If Activision really wants to evolve the multiplayer qualities of Modern Warfare, it could do so handily. But the thing that makes this argument seem bunk is that fact that a brand new Call of Duty appears to be shipping alongside, or around the same time, as this re-release.
Now, if Activision was to modernize the multiplayer, it would be cannibalizing its own market for the newest iteration of the franchise, the aforementioned Call of Duty: Infinite War. This is exactly why it wouldn’t do such a thing, because it just doesn’t make sense to. Instead, this remaster could act as a reprieve of sorts from the over-complicated installments that have burned myself (and many others) out in recent years. Standing on its own two familiar and high-definition legs is exactly what it needs to do in order to appease fans – and there’s little doubt in my mind that the publisher will enforce just such a stance.

If leaked images are the real McCoy and Modern Warfare is indeed on its way to current-gen platforms, then Activision needs to give gamers exactly that. This isn’t a reboot, it’s a remaster, and fans need to keep that in mind if and when the title is officially unveiled. Following in the footsteps of past collections that perfectly recreate the feel of the original games, while adding some much-appreciated visuals, is just the shot in the arm that Call of Duty needs. Having said that, the fact that over 150,000 gamers signed a petition for Modern Warfare 2 to get a remake doesn’t hurt the idea of revisiting some of the older, more successful entries in the franchise.

GAY. GAY. GAY. DO NOT WANT OR NEED.
Prioritize these 4 things for "remastered versions":
- clean up servers (hackers, bots, etc)
- balance matchmaking and fix netcode
- include latest updates, patches, weapon balances, and dlc
- tune graphics for 2016's HD platforms
no customization of players, weapons, gear, etc
no new 30 killstreaks
no new space age, wizardry, magic abilities or gear
no micro transactions
package them up into a $100 "COD: Remastered" bundle or sell them individually for $60 a pop. Don't care, take my money.
pipe dream, because whatever studio now runs/owns COD and their developers don't give a shite about what the fanbase really wants.

I'm not a diehard fan of the series so I don't play them as much as I think you do. Going outside of the TD echo chamber, this is a very common opinion of the series since Ghosts. AW's campaign was very good and the multiplayer was good. The last two games aren't as good as the peak of the series (duh), but to say they're trash is just stupid.

People really are idiots when it comes to AW.

AW is what Titan Fall should have been.

People just need to get over the fact that it's never going to be the way it used to be. They're like the people who can't get over high school.
I'm convinced I'll never see another pure WWII shooter or a true stealthy Splinter Cell ever again. I hate it, but the market or the franchise has just moved on.
I hope COD4 remaster is what everyone wants but the hate for something because of nostalgia is pointless. You can accept the new and remember the old, or reject the new and just whine all the time.

so? it's not like i'm the only person here voicing the same sentiments. reject our opinions founded on hundreds of hours of experience and just whine all the time.
what you are failing to include or mention is what the most frustrating differences between old generation COD and new generation COD: gun skill, map knowledge, and team work are no longer key aspects factored into these games. All of the new features, abilities, and crap are prioritized to decrease the difficulty for new players and in turn broaden the audience for the developers to rake in more money because they aren't creative enough to polish and create valued additions to what was a once good product.

It says at the bottom of the image that cod4 remastered will be a download.
However this is almost surely a troll faked photoshopped image, as one usually appears every year around this time.

Diz and anti told me on xbl that you can be shot at from under water in a recent cod?

Battalion 1944 seems to be our only hope for a realistic shooter. currently set for a may 2017 release.

I will laugh so hard if they just re-skin a recent version of COD, take out the jumping, and just add the old maps

Let me go ahead and stop you here. You think I play CoD a lot? No longer am I a "die hard" CoD fan. Haven't been since Blops 1. I played a good bit of Blops 2, but hardly a die hard fan. Personally, I think CoD has been on a shite slope since MW3. The way I see it, these are the CoD titles that are trash. Ghost and Advanced Warfare. Black Ops 3 had a ton of potential, but the bullshite wall running, shite maps, Black Market and awful streaks ruined it for me.
