Multiple excuses for them when it turns out they are just going to release a snes one at I am sure a higher price.
You guys do know you don't have to defend everything Nintendo does?
Also, on this note, and if this is about something that is "Limited," I do hope that you are equally critical about every single Limited Edition product and company that produces them on the market.
Just saying.
If this is about creating hype through a limited product...well that implicates nearly any large company that manufactures some kind of product. And probably a good bet at a large portion of companies have done this at one time or another.
McDonald's and the McRib, All Car companies, nearly every single fashion company, etc.
All of the games and game companies listed here too:

These too:
Edit: And yes, in some cases with Limited Products, these are literal copies with extra appeal in the form of visual changes, extra components/non-essential items. In that, you can get the exact same product without the extras and be fine. However, all of the games on the Classic are available on the Wii VC, and most are available on the Wii U VC and 3DS, so yes there are alternative ways to get the exact same thing.

it's pretty shitty that demand didn't meet supply and before that happens they pull the plug, but if you can't understand the obvious reasons they would make this decision then i don't think you've even tried looking at things from the supply side...which is fine, you're a consumer, think like a consumer. they may just be assholes who don't know what they're doing. certainly i don't think Nintendo is good at looking at things from a consumer perspective. maybe it's a cultural thing,
personally i thought the nes mini would be a huge seller but i said back in September that there would be a marketing conflict with the switch and maybe even production resources. in fact, they unveiled the switch at a time they should have been marketing the nes mini...but even still, demand was high.

I mean, you're obviously an expert on the issue.

Me? Clearly you know exactly what these companies should be doing. And yes, production logistics is my area of expertise. I'm just telling you decisions are more multi faceted than you're making them out to be and I think you know that but I don't want to call you "obtuse" or be insulting.
Everything from you is 100% consumer thinking which is basically. Is it good? Do I want it? What am I willing to pay? Well here's what I want and they're not making. That's not invalid, it's just if you're looking for rhyme and reason you won't find it there.
