So I want a new ultra wide monitor for my desktop that I can use for gaming PC but also want to use to hook up my work laptop to use the same keyboard and mouse.

I am eyeing the 49” Samsung for my flight simulator play but also like FPS which makes the 4ms a bit rough.

I also would like to take my work laptop and be able to hook it up to the monitor easily while using the same keyboard and mouse (usb C?). So I don’t understand the way to KVM this.

Could I get recommendations? Money isn’t really an issue but not sure if a 49” at 120hz vs a 34” at 144hz is that big of a deal.

Try a laptop docking station into a kvm.

I am trying to wrap my head around the wiring. Also have seen a cap of 60hz in the KVM’s I looked at which would make a high Hz monitor irrelevant.

Why can’t I figure this shite out?

I wouldn't KVM that. KVMs are going to give you crap performance for games.

You could do something easier, and probably cheaper, like getting some nice logitech peripherals that have dedicated 2.4ghz adapters and bluetooth. That way you can have the dedicated adapters in your gaming PC and use bluetooth with the work PC.

That way you're only having to change inputs on the monitor and getting full res and frames out of each device.

I did the same with my Logitech G613 keyboard and G603 mouse while working from home

Its going to cost you a bit of money but there are kvm that support 120.

I was thinking of going with just a k/m switch and changing inputs on the monitor and hitting the switch to change host pc’s. I would like to use the laptops usb c. The wiring hurts my brain for some reason.

Blue, I have a g710+ and a g602. Obviously the keyboard is wired, would it be cheaper to go k/m switch or just get the wireless keyboard and go your route? I didn’t realize these could do both Bluetooth and radio.

Also thinking of going with this. [link=LINK ]

I like flight sims so I could use all that.

I can't tell you which would be cheaper, but on my G613 and G603 it's a button on each to switch between Bluetooth and 2.4ghz. Super seamless too, no needing to go into the computer settings to do anything after Bluetooth is setup.

It would be about $150 to get both, but they're super high quality stuff

I use a cheap $20ish Amazon USB 3.0 switch with 4 in / 2 out that I have mounted to the bottom of my desk for mouse/keyboard/headset. I just switch the monitor input on the back of the monitors that I have mounted on a single double monitor mount. This allows for a clean hidden wire install. Plus, I don't have to worry about KVM input issues for FPSs and I can choose to use one monitor for each computer if I'm working/playing.

I wouldn't want a huge 49" widescreen for the lack of flexibility, having to look that far left and right, the taxing nature of that resolution on a GPU, etc. I'd rather have two 27" or 34" type screens.

The problem with a 2 screen setup is the bezel in the middle. I am torn. The specs are nice and I would change the aspect ratio for FPS etc.
