Guy at my office is retiring and loves to play Hearts of Iron 4 on his PC. Couple of folks wanted to buy a similar game for him...what would y’all recommend? Thanks.

Europa Universalis IV or Stellaris. Stellaris is space/sci-fi, so go with Europa Universalis if he wants something more grounded.

Both are from same developer, just different time periods.

Leaving him alone and letting him play the game he actually wants to play. Instead of wasting everyone's time and money on some bullshite he doesn't want.

However, you may consider getting him a VR setup and a pornhub subscription. He's probably that type and would get more use out of it than some shitty game.

If you can find out what dlc he doesn’t have, you could get him those. I know all of those paradox games have assloads of DLC.

If he has all the dlc, just get a different paradox game. Crusader Kings 2 or EU4.

Crusader kings has some really good game of thrones mods if he watches the show.

I mean maybe he likes Hearts of Iron because he's an old guy and remembers WW2?
