It looks like we've advanced to week 8!

Iowa State falls to #17 Texas at home.

Texas QB Goolsby completed 20 passes on 20 attempts for two TDs through the air and added another on the ground.

Cyclones QB Darius Lee-Campbell once again turned the ball over twice but kept the game in reach with three touchdown passes.

Stud RB Mike Warren ran for 116 yards on 17 attempts and added one touchdown.

The Beavers took on their Rival Washington and it was a shoot out. Oregon state held on 70-63.
My Freshman phenomenon was knocked out of last game and is done for the season. I had to rely on the ATH turned QB/WR Mobley who went 11-13 for 281 and 5 TD's. Running Back Nick Fields caught 3 of Mobley's TD's. Fields also had 5 receptions for 189 yards, while adding 83 yards on the ground.

The special teams played lights out. Both of my KR's each had a TD one was 102 and one was 103 yards. Combined the two had 534 yards in kick returns.

My defense had two INT's and one was a pick 6. I have 17 INT's in 6 games. I don't think I have ever had that many in one season, much less half a season. It's weird to have that many turnovers, but give up as many points and yards as I have.

They could not be stopped. Their QB was 33- 39 534 5TD's 2 INT's. They were definitely in FU Mode.

The Rivalry games, Conference games(for me usually the weak teams in conference) are the ones to watch when it comes to FU mode.

I'm done with my recruiting on the bye week. I think I'm going to have a smaller, yet high quality class. Already got 7 commits rated 78 or higher, and looking to add a few more.

Noticed LSU is #1 in the coaches poll and Cal is #1 in the west coast-biased media poll.

Perusing some stats and noticed this:

Sometimes I am a bit risky with option pitches against the CPU. The other night I tried to pitch the ball about 15 yds downfield. Defense picked it off and housed it.

I have to evolve my run game against users. You and PC have been busting up my triple option the last few times we've played. I'll hit a good run every once in awhile, but it's pretty tough.

What formations do you run the triple option out of? Is it your base offense or just an add on?

Very pleased with my recruiting so far. I have found a few diamond in the roughs (+5 or more).

Best snag was the #3 RB overall. He was 75 but got +7 when scouted so is at 82

I run it as a base out of the pistol and shotgun. I like to establish it as a threat early and then start passing and power stuff out of those formations.

I'm not a huge user of the straight zone read plays because some of them feel a little cheap. I feel the triple option is more legitimate.

A few users have very effective defense now against the triple option now, and it throws me off my game. I'm in a quest to diversify.

Peaster - a non kicker rated 82? A frickin unicorn.

That's damn strong recruiting. The highest I have on my board is a 77.

Beast - that's interesting. I've never successfully ran a triple option system because I can't ever get the timing/reads right. I find that when running triple option out of pistol and shotgun the risk becomes huge for getting stopped behind the LOS because there isn't a FB dive option. Maybe I haven't explored it enough but I'm just garbage with it.

Try the triple out of spread formations first. That helps get used to the timing. Then once you get comfortable with that timing you can go to the under-center triple with the flexbone. There the timing and reads are quicker.
