That is what I want to avoid. I completely get pay-to-win when you're talking about free mobile games or a free download game like Fortnite, but I don't want to pay $60 for a game and then find that it is virtually unbeatable without additional payments.

I have an 89 overall that I really only built up over the last month and a half. If you play 200 full games you should be in the 90s, I’ve only played one season plus the playoffs even simming some games. You can also download the NBA2k game for your phone and get 600 VC per day in about 10 minutes and during the season they have where you can pick the NBA games each day and get 50 VC for each correct pick.

Sure you can buy VC to speed it up but only to an extent. The bigger issue is filling up the cap breaker to 100% in order to unlock additional levels of the different skills to use your VC on. This can take awhile as the higher you move up harder it is to fill the cap breaker to 100%. I’ve had several times where I have plenty of VC but can’t spend it waiting for the cap breaker to fill up.

Micro transactions help but only to an extent in the MyCareer mode, there is still a long grind that you can’t buy your way out of

Honestly it’s gone to shite. I’ve been playing them every year and 18 is probably the worst one yet when it comes to myplayer. It’s never been this hard of a grind to rank up your player. I have around 2600 park games played and 100 mycareer games played and I’m still only sitting at a 94 overall. It’s fricking ridiculous.

Everything in this game requires VC. Even little things like tattoos and haircuts. It’s never been this bad and they don’t hide it.

I haven’t even mentioned how horrible the storyline is with mycareer a long with not being able to skip their cringeworthy cut scenes.

Gameplay is fine imo, but it likes to frick you for playing great defense.

Yep, only thing I really hate about the game this year. It’s made the Five put offense unbeatable and the P&R damn hard to stop online in Ranked H2H. I stopped playing once I reached the NBA tier because it just got annoying playing the same teams and seeing the same exact offense game to game. There’s a clear and obvious meta this year and it’s all because on ball defense is so hard with how easy the ball handler blows by the defender.

I was playing as the Blazers vs the Cavs once and for shits and giggles I tried to take Lebron off the dribble with fricking Aminu I succeeded 2 or 3 times out of the 5 I did it.

I really like the gameplay this year and believe it’d be the GOAT 2k if defense was better rewarded.

Not play a shitty game

The gameplay of 19 is miles better than 18. I don't do mycareer, so microtransactions have never been a problem for me.

I’m waiting on the game to go on sale here soon for $40 on the PSN store. Sports titles usually last a month to a month and half before they go on a flash sale for $40.

Once that’s done I’m going to start the annual Online H2H grind to the top

If you don’t care about playing online or in mypark then just go to myleague and create a player with player lock on. Can be as good or bad as your heart desires without ever worrying about VC.
