I would rather play a Naughty Dog game than the overwhelming majority of multiplayer focused live service games this generation is so fond of.

This is a fair point. The 10-20 hour single player game is so neglected these days, I think it's one of the reason why ND games actually get extra hype and attention. Those are my favorite type of games and always have been. We need more high quality single player type games in general and not Looter/Shooter/Battle Royale #28394723.
The industry has moved away from single player because they can't milk those games financially for years the way all those multiplayer live service games can. They made up this lie that hte public wasn't interested in s ingle player anymore which is obviously bullshite based on how well the blockbuster single player games sell.
