Every time I read an MMO review I always see the words "most fun I've had since *insert MMO here*"

I guess I've become skeptical

I wish Amazon still sold crowns and time cards to PC users.

ESO does a good job of replicating the Elder Scrolls feel within an MMO framework.

The leveling PVE is the absolute best, but I don't know what the endgame is like.

I just hopped on ESO this past weekend. Started doing a main story quest and got wrecked in my first taste of combat. So I tried 3 more times before jumping on Skyrim to go on a murdering spree.
None of my friends play it. And my dumbass bought ESO plus thinking it was a one time purchase (like Battlefield Premium) instead of a monthly subscription
So now I feel kinda forced to play it. I'm just completely lost and I'm considering making a new character to relearn the basics.

Xbox One GT: rambeaux504 if anyone still plays.

It is a one time purchase. Subscribing just gets you free DLC.

did you play through the beginning tutorial that gives you a run down on combat? I had played ESO nearly a year ago but when I logged in and saw my character I realized i forgot how to play. Made a new toon and went through the beginning to get a feel for it all over again.

let me know when you plan on putting a few hours into it. xbone gt stlseeeek

I found the hardest trio to kill in the game. Rift, Hunters Camp. 4 of us got slaughtered by the 3, and if you do not take the female kajit out, she heals them and herself over and over, and puts some bubble down and it drains health.

I've fought in toughest dungeons with people and never had this much trouble, i actually had to wait for some level 300+ peeps to come by and finally beat them, and it still wasnt easy.

Also in the rift, people like to farm for exp and items from the giant camp. U beat him down, but have archers draw the mammoth away, and it resets and he comes back, they rinsed and repeated 40 times or more. I quit after the first 10, i wanted the kill on both, but they kept pulling woolly away.

Easy way to level up and get itmes to sell at lower levels is at the Chains. You can kill the daedra(usually big group waiting), and get the chest and nice exp. I already had a level 50 character, so it doesn't help me as much as if i tried it at lower levels.

I can see how that would seem insignificant, but crafting is very important in ESO. All gear (other than jewelry) can be improved with crafting materials of varying degrees of potency in several crafting professions. So a green-quality item(either crafted or gained as loot) can be upgraded to blue-quality, which upgrades to purple and then to gold or "legendary" quality, which is basically essential if you want to be a competitive player. These materials, combined with all all the enchanting runes, provisioning ingredients, and alchemy reagents add up into the hundreds, and can take up a lot of the limited amount of bank space you have available.

That space will be important as you level, as there is a ton of gear that have powerful 5-piece set bonuses that all do different things, along with traits which have different purposes depending on what you're doing. Certain types of those sets will be best-in-slot for single-target pve encounters while some will be better for aoe situations, and some might belong to the same set but have a trait that is only useful in pvp. As there are up to ten armor, weapon, and jewelry slots that can be equipped at one time, you can imagine that these items can accumulate quickly.

You should check out Deltia's website. He has a lot of good information to help players understand the mechanics of the game, along with builds and leveling guides.

I think the One Tamriel update ramped up the difficulty for the world/area bosses. They wanted to make them so that many need at least one or two people to help take them down.

They did. Those world bosses used to be soloable but now have similar health and damage to bosses in veteran dungeons. Lower-level players will have a hard time with these, but they will also struggle in any content that was previously high-level before the scaling. The mechanics of the fights were designed around the skill level of more experienced players when they were made, which new players aren't really prepared for. Anyone can play anywhere now, but that doesn't necessarily mean that they should.

Low-level players' stats may be relatively equal to those of higher levels but they don't have the class, weapon, and armor abilities or their ultimates unlocked with all their morphs yet either, so people shouldn't expect anything easy in the DLC dungeons even if they now have access to them. This game has a high skill-cap compared to most MMO's because of its active combat system and the demands it places on the player.

1 thing since last update, more game crashes.

Used to rarely have a game crash, since last update, game crashes at least 1 time per hour playing.

Thought it was because while in cities, people are hammering the chat and stuff, and on their pets, so figured it was crashing it. But it's crashing outside cities, etc.
