I did a trial for gamepass. I turned off recurring payments. Then I decided to do a 6 month trial run. They turned recurring payments back on. Of course I've decided that it's shite so I didn't want it. Yet they bill me for it.

They always turn on recurring payments when you subscribe even with a free month. You have to cancel before the month ends.

I've had similar issues with my Barkbox subscription. I cancelled, and my account shows as cancelled, but I kept getting boxes because they never turned off autorenewal for my paypal payment method.

Barkbox was the single hardest subscription cancel I’ve endured. You can’t do it in the app so you have to go on a desktop and figure it out in there.

Oh and they sent my the link to get a refund in SPANISH because they have my region as COLUMBIA. Because they allowed some frickhead to steal my login info years ago and buy a shitton of FIFA stuff. Then it took them 2 months to return my Xbox account back to me..

MS aren't the only ones who practice this robbery. Agree, total BS.

It's in every industry. Audible I'm looking at you.

I hate when they make you have to call to cancel a subscription. Like NY Times or Sirius XM. I literally had to just stop paying and wait for them to cancel on me instead. If you call to cancel, they’ll literally keep trying to talk you out of it.

change your billing address to California then there should be a way to cancel online. I have done this with a couple services now that added a cancellation button when I changed my state to california

A California law that went into effect July 1 is aimed at making it easier for customers to cancel their subscriptions online. The law states that customers who accept an automatic renewal or continuous service offer online must be able to cancel the service online.
