They can just take all of the money in my bank account if Cavill is Shepherd in live action.

Fans of the Mass Effect franchise will immediately know that these are words and characters pulled right from that beloved trilogy. Furthermore, it appears that the text Cavill has shown us comes directly from Mass Effect 3's Wikipedia page.

"Following the events on Tuchanka and a failed coup by Cerberus to take over the Citadel, the quarians offer their support to the Alliance if Shepard helps them reclaim their homeworld, Rannoch, from the geth," The Wikipedia page reads. "Assisted by a quarian, either Tali'Zorah or Admiral Daro'Xen, Shepard boards a geth dreadnought and rescues a captive geth unit, either Legion or a facsimile occupied by a geth virtual intelligence (VI), then disables the Reaper control signal over the geth."

Literally if one of the baws from this board decided to get ripped and become an actor. Dude's as real as it gets.

I mean for frick's sake, he let the Superman role go to voicemail because he was healing in a WoW raid.

First thing I thought of. I know Season 2 was pretty much immediately approved and I thought they were shooting it now.

This was never my experience with healers. A Paladin gquit and blocked me while he and I were in a pug Naxx raid during WOTLK. He had just finished doing some of the most epic healing I've ever seen a Paladin do in a bad situation, and prevented a wipe AND was the reason we downed whatever boss that was. I was in the middle of singing his praises, and BOOM he's gone. To this day, I have no idea why he gquit. He finished the pug raid out though so...

ETA: /end thread hijack

And the bitch of it is that I'm pretty sure he was building with an nzxt aio that has a rotatable faceplate. He didn't actually need to reinstall it to fix the problem. But watching his face was worth it

Cavill playing any character he geeks out on is good viewing.

To be honest I've long-dreaded a movie/series around a re-telling of the trilogy. The reality is if you've played the main story quest all the way through, you've already seen it in cinematic form. Any movie or series would inevitably leave out so much of the journey, and even if it focused almost exclusively on the main story we'd lose out on so much of the sidestories that gave the ME universe life. I also don't like the notion of a canon Shepherd after I've spent however many hundred hours in cinematics making my own choices. I love the ME universe and I love Shepherd but I don't need to see a watered-down/rushed version of the story when my nostalgic experience is going to be objectively superior.

Personally I don't think there's anything on-screen in the mix. The number of studios that could properly pull off the entailed special effects alone is pretty limited, it would have to be a monster of a project for what's a relatively niche IP and risky. The writing would have to be top notch to nail the pacing without feeling that 80% of my Mass Effect experience was cut out. I have faith that the general public can get down with a compelling sci-fi series, but I'd be doubtful a trilogy series would hit the mark with them and the diehards simultaneously.

Given we know Bioware is doubling down on the ME universe, a new game with Cavill as the lead strikes me as the most logical outcome.
