Will let the first version of the thread continue to drift off into gaming board land.

Was curious to hear how everybody was coming along with their franchise (on or offline).

After trying out owner mode and playing around with a couple different teams I've finally settled on the one I'm sticking with.

I decided to just go with the Saints and do a fantasy draft. It has been a fun ride so far.

Draft: decided to go heavy on the lines. My first 5 picks were offensive lineman. Next picks came on the D Line and LB positions. I didn't look very much into the age of players, just tried to make my team as good as possible. Ended up with a dominant O Line and a pretty good solid group of lbs and D lineman.

Was able to get CJ Anderson as my running back with Paxton lynch as my QB.. Both really late in the draft. WRs were nothing to brag about, but serviceable. Kendall Wright, Marcus Wheaton were my top two guys. The biggest weakness on my team was the secondary.

Season 1: Played through year 1 and went 12-4. Lynch improved a good bit through the year and CJ Anderson was a beast running behind the line. Had some really really close, back and forth games during that season. Was a lot of fun. Ended up taking the super bowl over the Chargers.

Season 2: I didn't have big holes to fill in the offseason, as my team was still pretty good. Lost a lot on the defensive line, to age, but the remaining team returned. Did very little work in free agency and only drafted 3 players. The rest of the picks were traded away for future picks, which I knew I would need down the road with my aging team. Went 13-3 in the regular season. Made it again to the Super Bowl, again against the chargers, but they kicked my arse. Lynch continued his rise as really good QB. Him and Anderson were now rated 90.

Season 3: This was my big draft year and I did not disappoint. Drafted a ton of defensive players that were rated pretty highly. Got some key future pieces on defense, as well as back ups for my aging offensive line. Again was able to finish this season 13-3 and run away with the division. Lynch finally broke 5,000 yards passing and has now become an absolute stud. The playoffs in this season were super tough. I trailed late in both NFC playoff games, but managed to pull through them. Played the Browns in the Super Bowl and took them down in a close one.

Season 4: Was a slow draft season for me in this one. Only got 3 draft picks, but they were good ones. My young defensive players are now taking over. I have finally got this team on both sides of the ball where I want them. I'm midway through the season and I might finally achieve my undefeated season. Lynch is a beast and my defense is shutting people down. Currently 7-0. End of this season will provide another big draft class, so the train will continue to roll.

No. I play with all pro slider sets from operation sports.

I know my record is good, but there are some really good games involved, some that came down to the final seconds. Now I've built such a solid team that it is very hard to beat me. Don't do any cheesing. I go with coaches suggestion on both offense and defense. Part of it is Paxton Lynch being a beast, and part me learning how to read the defensive looks I'm getting.

I Sim the preseason and I only simmed the last two weeks of season 3 because I had home field locked up.

I am bored at work and can usually play 3-4 games a day when I'm not doing anything else.

Is this the new Madden? How do you do fantasy draft for franchise mode? I tried and it wouldn't let me. I was choosing offline mode though since I don't have xbox live.

It is in an offline franchise. Whenever you start your franchise and pick your team it gives you the screen where in one box you can start franchise and in the other 3 you can customize it.

One click for owner/coach/player mode.

One box for fantasy draft, imported rosters or preseason roster.

Another box for if you want to start your season in the preseason or in week 1.

Something like that, but you just have to make the change to fantasy draft.

In an online franchise with some people on here. Picked up the chiefs in week 4 with a 1-3 record. Dropped my first game when Alex Smith went down and I couldn't get my offense going. So I made some trades and free agent signings.. I picked up Kaepernick and changed my offensive scheme to fit his play style. Also changed my defense to a 3-4. Now I'm on a 3 game win streak. Sitting at 4-4.
Made a few trades right before the trade deadline. I should be 5-4 after this week and I should get Alex Smith back next week. But Kaepernick did an excellent job filling in. He tied the record for most passing TDs in a game (7) and now holds the #5 spot for most passing yards in a game. My teams coming together finally, but I have a lot of injuries holding me back. I imagine I'll clinch a wild card spot and hopefully get a win or two in the playoffs and have a really good draft/off season

This one sentence completely invalidates everything.

Did you miss the part where I said it was a fantasy draft before season 1?

The Saints, with their current real life roster, have just as little shot as the Browns to make the Super Bowl in real life too.

What the hell kind of settings would let you throw for this many TDs with a shitty QB?

It took me 3 seasons to get a good QB to be great, and I still didn't sniff that many touchdowns.

We're playing All-madden. I played the Jaguars and Kaepernick was just on fire.

When it appeared I could reach a 5,000 yard season with Lynch last season there was a point where I said... Alright I'm just going to air it out this game and try to rack up yardage. It never seemed to work out though. Seems if I was trying to pass 90% of the time, it would get stopped eventually. My offense now is probably 65-35 pass/run. That will usually net me around 300 passing and 75-100 rushing.

This is the first year I'm actually having a ton of success throwing touchdowns. I drafted a rookie WR last year and he is a big guy who can go up and get it. Before him I didn't have that type of threat and didn't throw a whole ton of touchdowns. Now I'm spreading it out a whole lot more and taking more shots downfield. If lynch stays healthy I'll have another 5,000 yard season with plenty more touchdowns. However throwing 7 in a game won't ever be touched though.

Playing on All-Madden with no sliders.

Decided to rebuild the Browns. Started off trading Kruger and Joe Thomas for a shite ton of picks. Planned on absolutely tanking the first year since I had almost no weapons on my team but after winning the first few, I decided I had a shot at the playoffs. The whole season consisted of Good RGIII or Bad RGIII. Whichever version of him showed up determined the outcome of the game. I was in the playoff hunt for a while but ultimately the Bengals & Steelers offense was too powerful for my D to stop and Forsett for the Ravens could not be stopped for some reason. Ended up 7-9 and missed the playoffs.

Go into to free agency and see Le'Veon Bell is available. Didn't really want to spend that much money on a RB but my division rivals were at the top of the list for him and I knew I didn't want to go against him twice a year so I throw the bank at him and sign him. Manage to get some older veteran guys on the cheap for my defense.

Then the draft comes. I had scouted some QBs but was more planning on bolstering the Defense with the draft since RGIII was somewhat capable. one of my picks I acquired was a late 1st rounder. I look at the QBs and there's a guy graded as a early 2nd but he killed it at the combine. I decide to take a chance on him and turns out he's a early first round talent. The rest of my picks are solely focused on defense.

The next season I start out being a ball control defensive team. Pound it with Bell and be aggressive on D was my strategy. Works out well for the first 5 or 6 games then I go on a losing streak because they're loading the box and I made some mistakes I shouldn't have. Decide to open up the offense at that point since my rookie QB isn't playing bad. Corey Coleman turns into a beast on the deep ball which really helps Bell. End the season around 10-6. Blow out the Jets and Ravens. Beat the Patriots in the AFC championship in OT. Face the Packers (who blew me out in the Reg season) in the Super Bowl. Defense plays out of their mind getting around three picks giving me the game. My rookie QB wins OROY and Bell ends up a top 5 rusher.

You don't suffer from any ramifications with the salary cap trading guys?

I've held off on trading players because I don't want to lose needed cap space.

Took Dak from a 72 overall to an 86 3/4ths through season 1, but I play on the default difficulty

Got it! Thanks man.
Any draft strategies you guys have? Looks like o-line and RBs go late and QBs and top defensive guys (especially DBs) go early first round.

I didn't pay attention to who the cpu drafted where. I went 5 lineman first then dt, Le, re, MLB, MLB, rolb, lolb.. Then I started grabbing skill positions. Was still able to get CJ Anderson really late.

No good CBs left by the time I picked them.

Season 4 update:

My quest for perfection is alive and well. It really is fun after 3 seasons of work to have it all come together. This is the first season my defense has been dominate. Never even came close to being plus in the turnover battle, but I'm kicking arse this season.

I'm currently 15-0 and have one game to go to finish off the regular season. I did get quite a scare last game though. G. Bernard for the falcons sliced my defense to shreds. Ran for 250 and 3 touchdowns on me. Falcons led at half time, but I edged them out in the second half.

Individually, it has been the year, of lynch. I noticed I was at 4,400 yards with 3 games to go. I had also wrapped up home field that week. Decided to go for the undefeated season and single season passing record. I just said screw it and aired it all over the field. Might have rushed 10 times in first of final 3. Lynch had over 400. In falcons game I was concerned about losing, so I had to Balance it out more. Still ended with 400 through the air. Should be able to reach the passing record in my final game.
