Wish they’d fix the timers . Unreal I have to adjust my system clock for shite to work .

Seems they are just giving more mats, not fricking with honing rates yet .

It must be crazy to be the developer or publisher of a game, and literally change a rate of success on honing to where it increases or decreases the daily profits of your company. That must feel like such a crazy parameter to have control over.

I think they may have permanently ruined peoples' perception of the game though, regardless of what they do to take corrective action. A ton of people feel like honing is rigged, regardless of the success rate the game tells you. The rates are so bad though that it has really put the gameplay loop in the spotlight way too hard for a game so new to the west.

Been enjoying how easy and rewarding the grand prix event is. So much currency for such little time investment is quite a welcome change.

I haven't tried it yet. I guess I'll have to do that this evening.

I may use my next power pass here shortly.

Already having a 2nd character that can run their own chaos dungeons, boss raids, etc... is nice for farming mats for the main character. Especially now with the low success rates with honing.

I downloaded this over the weekend and am in the process of levelling up a bezerker. I just made it to the tradeskilling section.

The game is fun but at this point it's missing something for me. The fixed camera is annoying and I need to look more into keybindings as I hate the default setup of QWERASDF being moves instead of movements and utilities.

Another thing I find confusing is this:

Which one of those is my actual level?

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe:

LEVEL 10 - Your Roster Level

LEVEL 131.66 - Your Item Level (Often referred to as your "I level" by lots of players)

LEVEL 27 - Your Individual Character Level

Concerning the item level, once you get to character level 50, the "end game" content starts. You start running boss raids, towers and chaos dungeons. When you successfully complete these, you gain items, materials, etc...

These materials enable to "hone" your weapon/equipment. By honing successfully, you increase your weapon & items' level which increases your weapon/item stats.

End game content also includes PvP, which I have not yet tried, but from what I've read, people rave about it.

Boss raids, towers, chaos dungeons, etc... all require certain item levels for you to be eligible to participate (among other qualifications like specifically completing certain quests, and previous dungeons, towers, bosses, etc...)

Use the time you are playing now to learn your character and their abilities along with the mechanics of the game itself. Once you hit level 50 is when the game really starts.

Just FYI, you do get two powerpasses at some point after you hit level 50 that you can use on two new characters so you don't have to do the entire leveling up thing again.

ETA: I highly recommend going on YouTube for tutorials or beginner videos. Lots of incredibly helpful information on there about quests, bosses, etc... that you will eventually need.

This game does require a lot of learning due to how in depth it is with all the different things you can do, create, etc...

Another question... what exactly is Roster Level?

Not sure how it's calculated. I would assume it's an average of your character levels, but I don't think that's right.

I'm not too privy on exactly how it works, but I found the below online

LINK

quote:

Roster levels are different from specific character levels, however. As your roster level increases, all characters connected to that specific account get special perks, including stat buffs. At specific levels, players will also get special rewards like Crystal chests, wallpapers, Phoenix Plumes, potions, and more.

These roster level rewards can be acquired by clicking on the roster icon at the bottom of the screen and then selecting “Roster Information”. Players don’t need to do anything specific to increase their roster level, since it moves up whenever you progress in the game.

You can check your roster level by clicking the purple bar at the bottom left of the Lost Ark screen to see how far you have until the next rank. The maximum roster level available right now is 250.

It is essentially your account level. Lots of quests are roster bound, as in once you do them on one character, you never have to do them again. The other quests and things can be done per character.

Roster level just comes from Roster Xp . You get roster xp from quests , dungeons, mokoko seeds etc.

Hit 600 Ilvl on the gunslinger and planned on going to Yorn but the 2nd awakening quest takes forever . Gonna wrap that up first .

New patch tomorrow hopefully takes care of the botting problem . Lot of mats and gifts too.

I guess bots must be plentiful in the game. I was playing a couple of nights ago and another player working the same quests I was working said something along the lines of "a bezerker that's not a bot, nice."

Realizing the gunslinger needs a lot of skill points and perfect positioning and mechanics to do optimal dps, gonna start working on my paladin .

Kinda just bored of the GS. Gonna farm chaos dungeons for mats to feed the pal. She’s great at that lol. But for some tougher battles I’ve been in I feel like I’m spending too much time dodging or stuck in long animations. And if I get breathed on I die.

Did clear lvl 50 of the tower at least .

Failed a 460 chaos gate today in rohendel and I’m salty lol. Just feels too tough to dps compared to zerker, sorc, DB

16 skills on the bar compared to 8. More potential but I just need more skill pts

Maybe I'm just needing to play the Paladin more to learn the abilities, but the Gunslinger feels more fluid to me.

Granted I have 3 skill pages I use depending on the quest/dungeon/boss.

I have one that maxes only pistol abilities, one for shotgun and one for the rifle.

For the shotgun and Rifle, I do have extra points so I will typically max (or use as many points as I have left) in one of the strongest abilities on an alt weapon.

This keeps me from having to switch weapons and remember what is what. I basically have narrowed it down to one set of skills based on what I'm doing.

I've found the pistols to be the best all around and easiest to combo because of the lower CD's.

The paladin is not as tanky as I thought. The gunlancer I think is the tankiest, but I didn't like the mechanics.
The paladin's ultimate ability is very nice for dungeons and bosses and his abilities when his meter fills is very helpful for the team as is his shield and dmg reduction abilities for the party.

Worked my deathblade up to my main's I-level and now I'm working my paladin to that level also and will just them to farm for the Gunslinger.

I got bored of the GS too, but once I played some alt characters, going back to GS feels pretty fun/good.

Rizer, what server are you on?

I'm on Elzowin (sp?)

I have lvl 3 peacekeeper so I have to swap weapons a lot. Want to transition to hit master.

I’m on Danube. Didn’t bother to check what server y’all were on before makin a toon. I know that random matchmaking pulls from a bunch of different servers , not sure if could queue for raids together though. Probably not . Wish I could swap off but don’t think thats here yet either .

Gunslinger definitely feels smoother doing solo stuff. I like the paladin buffs though and sacred executioner go hard mode is pretty fun.

apparently we can do cross server stuff with Group Finder if you are on US-East

I heard the same thing, and that the sorc is the much better dps if you don't want to deal with those things.

As a bard it's kind of nice to not have to worry so much about positioning and juggling dps skills. Keep everyone shielded, heal when you can, buff during the stagger check, and everyone's happy. And no one blames me if we get wiped in an abyssal dungeon because I don't have the stagger to stop a boss anyway
