On PC it is easy to do all of this.

But if it's optional and not necessary to get the full experience, I don't see the problem. Again, we forget that the price of new games hasn't gone up in a long time, but production times are through the roof. I can't blame them for at least trying to optimize profit. As long as they're not forcing gamers into purchasing items so they can keep up with the field, or gating off content behind a paywall, they can do whatever they want.
From what I've read, people that have actually played this game are generally fine with the pace and grind. It's just that type of game.

Ya, this is on PC only.
I forget where the term "trainer" came from, but this type of thing is old as dirt. Hell I remember using a hexcode editor to give myself a shite ton of money in the original SimCity
And why do I do it? Because I can. Grinding for money especially annoys the shite out of me.

I used to run one for the original RollerCoaster Tycoon, only to get a true sandbox mode.
