I figured out the mechanics but I guess with all of these fights he'd mix it up all the time and I wouldn't be ready for something I was used to him doing later in the fight that he'd throw at me right off the bat.

Quick pro-tip: try not to keep too much of a distance from him. If you let him continue to do his long range attacks it's just a chore.

ETA Also, outside the big front door leading to Aldrich's chamber, you'll find a summon sign where you can do the fight with Anri that will maybe help you figure some stuff out. You don't get credit for it in your main game, but you get an ember and I'm guessing some souls (I wasn't paying attention).

ETAA Now that I think about it, that might be dependent on if you did some stuff earlier with her and Horace. If you didn't fight Horace already, she might not be available for that.

Yeah. Anri and Horace are a major quest line with required steps.

Pretty cool that it you choose to summon for bosses you get more content via questlines

Fun fact:

Aldritch is currently in the process of devouring a god from dark souls 1 (gwyndolin)

Beat Aldrich and yhorm the giant. I'll give the dancer a go tomorrow. How much is left after that fight?

Dancer is about the halfway point of the game. Do you have the DLC?

I had read about this one and was resigned to it taking forever like Aldrich. 5th try, and I feel I honestly got lucky at the end when I did my patented "HEALTH BAR IS LOW JUST START SWINGING". Will get me killed like 99% of the time, but I guess I was too close to her for her to land anything.

Oh yeah. Was straight up out of one of the Alien movies. One of the creepier bosses I've encountered so far.

I haven’t gotten to the Ringed City but so far Friede has been the only boss I’ve had to give in and summon for in the whole series.

I think the developers knew this because she’s the only boss that lets you summon while hollow

I was able to summon as a hollow against Pontiff. I don't plan on using that again. It feels so much better to do it on your own. I think I scared my neighbors last night when I finally beat Aldrich. I can't believe I waited this long to play this game. It's such a good game.

Beating the Dancer and Aldrich solo felt amazing, but I won't lie.....I searched long and hard for a summon sign.

Friede is as difficult as any boss in the series. I struggled with her more than anyone in DSIII

I also want to point out that I beat both of them while not being embered. At a certain point I decided not to waste all I had.

Most difficult for me. Just odd timings and minimal tells. Had to summon...

ive never beaten Friede solo. at the end of the day, i just dont have the time/patience to put in the work. i can spend about 2 days stuck on something before i either summon past or just give up.

I still havent beaten Orphan of Kos or Ishin, prob never will.
