Just how unreliable are the early 360 rumors and game journalism in general?

To a certain extent yes, but I hold certain media members and organizations in much esteem and legitimacy than IGN, Gamespot, Kotaku, etc.

I don't. I think all they are doing is going for ratings and running with little or no information. There are a few good ones here or there.
