No.

Although I did think it was cool. The only time I cried during a video game was playing the Karate Kid for NES when I was eight because I couldn't beat the final level.

But I finally got it.

It was cool. Strange how something that had huge potential for being lame and cheesy and causing that game negative embarrassing notoriety ended up being a defining and powerful scene. The developers took a risk there.

I liked FF8 as much as 7. . .

Until the end of 8, where the story just stopped making sense.

I liked the card game and the "draw" concept

pretty solid run... it's a long game. took me two weeks of playing around 6 hours per day to beat it with a good bit of level grinding. I played it off and on for about a year after that getting characters to 99, doing the optional stuff including beating ruby and emerald, getting omnislash from the golden saucer, etc.

Did you get beat it with or without Knights of the Round? Haha, That makes a pretty big difference I found.

Is it possible to beat the Ruby Weapon without it? That's the only fight I remember it making a big difference. All the others I felt it was just using it because it was badass.

So let's just cut to the chase... did you cry during the opera scene?

Out with it, now.

Rachel

But not the Opera scene. Still one of my favorite scenes in any game.

I beat Emerald Weapon with knights of the round + w-summon + mimic or something like that. Basically cast it about 16 times in a row and took minimal damage while taking emerald behind the woodshed. Once I defeated him, I equipped Cloud with all of the master materia and whipped Ruby's arse with him.
