A re-make of FFVII would sell more copies than any new (non-MMO) one that they come up with

It's not that SquareEnix doesn't want to do it, it's that they've been stretched so thin with multiple releases over the past few years. Once the behemoth that is Final Fantasy XIII is finally finished, they might decide to launch a remake. Everything is written and designed already, so it would probably cut the production time in half.

I think they'd be crazy not to take the opportunity to cash in on an update. I also hope they don't assume the sales will be extraordinary and that we get a polished product that doesn't seem like they're tossing a dog biscuit for the loyal fans.

The only problem is that you know if they follow through with it, fans will only be clamoring for updates of some of the others in the series. They'll never be satisfied.

If Sony was smart, they'd pressure Square to remake FF7 as a PS4 launch title. They could probably price the damn console at $1000 and there would still be shortages

This storyline was so far ahead of its time for video games back then! Its awesome.

After 9 I gave up on the franchise. I played 1-9 on all the consoles but after playing 7 and becoming such a fan boy when I was younger, nothing else could live up to my standards. 8 was cool for the card game though haha

I never played X. But I know they did a X-2 and I tried playing it at my cousins house once and was like "there is an abnormal amount of vag in my party"

still one of the best games i have ever played..if not the best.
