Tomb Raider was good, but Hitman 2 sucked, Far Cry 5 sucked, Underworld Ascendant sucked. I can count on one hand the games I consider good have come out in the past year and a half. I'm starting to think it's me.

Just Cause games are blast to play. No pun intended.

I downloaded JC3 when it was free on PS4 and played the hell out it. I loved that game. Can’t wait to play this.

Do not buy this game right now.
Frames locked at 60, core features that were stock in 3 they left out, freezes that lock up my computer, and the map info is worthless.
They will fix it eventually and it is the same kind of fun that 3 was, but the bugs make it less fun. Pick this up when it's on sale.

Do they still require you to liberate all the areas to progress the story? That killed 3 for me.

Yes but in a different way, no more capturing outposts, game is kinda empty without it.

I couldn't keep playing this game. It might be because I just got through two marathon games (RD2 and AC Odyssey) with a story that wasn't corny. Running around and blowing up stuff, rinse and repeat wasn't really fun right now. And I loved the previous games.
I'm now going back and playing through God of War and enjoying it. I'll eventually get back to JC4 and finish it. It just doesn't have that "it" factor for me right now.

Definitely a down year for me too.
In 2018, I've spent more time replaying games than playing new ones.
I loved God of War and Bard's Tale but other than that, nothing stuck with me. Tomb Raider was fine but by the end, I wanted it over. Oxygen Not Included and Raft, were time killers, not much more than that. Rust wasn't great.
I enjoyed the heck out of Subnautica but I've had that for a few years so the official release this year doesn't count for my 2018 list.
State of Decay was a fun sandbox but nothing great. Still played it all the way through 4 times. Dying Light was an old game so that doesn't count.
Witcher 3 replay and DAI both ate up a lot of time as did my Fallout 4 replay.
Weak year for me for new games. Played a lot, but not a lot of new games grabbed my attention.
Forgot the big one. Forced myself to finish Bloodbourne. No rage quitting like I did in 2017.
