Is there a way to transfer a digital purchase to a friend, PS4?

So I bought the digital version of AC odyssey, played it, beat it & don't see myself playing it again ever / anytime soon. Is there a way to let a friend on a different console essentially "borrow" that game?
I've googled and it looks like you can do game share but, if I'm reading correctly, I'd have to trade logins with him resulting in me not being able to play games under my account. I could have that wrong.
It seems like I should be able to give him a code that deactivates the game on my console and let's him activate it on his.

Yeah. That would never work. 1 person purchases the game, finishes, passes on to the next, rinse, repeat.
I researched this a while back, and it's a case of having a primary console and a secondary, but I don't know specifics. Dan Ryckert, formerly of Giant Bomb, used to say he'd buy a game once, and him and his wife would both be able to play it on separate PS4's, but he was really bad at explaining exactly how it works. But it's doable.

Kinda like when you finish a game and sell the disc to game stop for a gumball and 2 paper clips? Or trade with a friend?

That's your business. No developer is going to allow you to deactivate a digital game and just hand it over to someone else so they can play it.

. On the console that you want to share games with, log in with your PlayStation account.
2. Select "Settings."
3. Select "Account Management."
4. Select "Activate as Your Primary PS4."
5. Confirm this choice by selecting "Activate."
Thanks. Have you tried this? What does it do to my account on my console? Do I still have access to all of the games under my profile even though it's listed as a primary on theirs?

That was my thinking too. I don't really play longer games like this over again so if I had the game disc I'd just give it to him.
*you answered this above. Nvm

That's the part I don't know. I almost convinced a friend to try this so I could play Fallout 4 on PS4 (before I bought it myself), but he was worried about his account getting screwed up and backed out. Ryckert and his wife were able to play Destiny 2 together with just 1 purchase of the game, but I don't know if that was primarily because they were at the same place?
Good luck.

If your PS4 isn't the primary PS4, then you lose access to your downloaded games until you re-activate as primary PS4. So you can still play disc based games without issue, and activating a machine as primary takes seconds.
ETA: I was reading that if you have an internet connection, you can verify license by just being online. Not sure if that online check is reactivating it as your primary console.

How is this any different then getting a new PlayStation and just using your login on the new one?
