Who else in here has to always invert the controls? I have an aviation background so it may play into all other games to me.
I will admit I can never get comfortable with 3rd person games. I sometimes feel like both ways feels wrong with a mouse and keyboard but ok with a controller.
Anyone else in this exclusive club?

This is the way.
It just makes sense.
If I imagine my thumbstick protruding from the back of my character's head, then when I push UP on the stick the character will look down and vice versa. This is how it works in my mind.

Only during actual aviation in games.

It's really a preference you get early in gaming life. You either play games inverted or you don't. Going back and forth is confusing and difficult.
Similarly, I always change button config to make jump the same button as whatever other game I'm playing concurrently.

I should do this as well. I normally power through the learning curve.

I used to always be inverted. No idea why but in the last couple years I've completely switched to never being inverted. Maybe my brain no work so okay no more.

I always invert the Y axis in games for flight, FPS etc. It comes from playing a crap load of Wing Commander, Xwing, TIE Fighter type games as a kid. My brothers are the same.
The only games I don't do this are RTS games which usually isn't an option anyway.

L33t is doing both.
I seamlessly switched from Aces over Europe (inverted) to Duke Nukem 3D (uninverted). The grey and red joystick had the big 20 some odd pin connector that had to be screwed in the back (like the old monitors). You had to know a little MS-DOS code to boot the games

Have always played inverted because my first ever game was Rebel Assault II on the PC. Lots of flying with the inverted Y-axis as a kid.

Yep, I look at it like my thumb is on their head.
I think this just means we are old.
