Story looks awesome. I didn't play the first, but I'm thinking about getting it and 2 at the same time.

If you have a PS4, it was literally just on sale for $5 last week. I already owned the base game on PS3, but I bought it just to dick around before the new game is released.

Will be a total of 40 characters and you earn gear so some RPG elements involved.

IN like a motherfricker!!! Loved the first game. Spent half of my time at work yesterday watching videos of people playing the MP beta.

The storyline for the first game is well done.

Basically, the Joker uses a combination of a Kryptonian virus and the Scarecrow's fear toxin on Superman. He kills Lois Lane and his unborn son, thinking she is Doomsday. Her heartbeat is linked to the detonator of a nuclear weapon that destroys Metropolis.

Overcome with grief and rage, Superman snaps and kills the Joker in cold blood, punching through his chest.

5 years later, he is the emperor of the One World Order and Batman leads an insurgent group that opposes him.

The story takes place on an alternate Earth and the prime Earth superheroes are pulled into their world by Batman.

This is what pisses me off about the game. There will be a fractured player base.

Regular Edition ($60): The base 30 fighters and that is it.

The Digital Deluxe version ($80) of the game will come with 3 of the 9 DLC characters included in the price along with a premier skin that you can use to change Supergirl into Powergirl. You will have to pay extra for the other 6 DLC characters.

The Ultimate Edition ($100) will come with all 9 DLC characters (this excludes pre-order only Darkseid) included in the price. It will also come with 3 premier skins you can use to change the following characters: Supergirl, Green Lantern, and Flash. It also comes with 2 premier shader packs.

Not extra money but:

Darkseid: When the game first releases the only way you can have him is to have pre-ordered the game. No telling how far down the line he will be released to the rest of the public

It seems like NetherRealm and WB would have their shite together by now. Most people will wait a year to buy this game when the inevitable "Complete" Edition or GOTY Edition; whatever you want to call it comes out. It will be $60.00 and include everything everyone else paid extra for.

Superhero games are ports and Batman taught me that I don't want to play them, and it's not key binding related.

This game will not be on PC so you have nothing to worry about anyway.

I had no interest in this game until I had seen the latest trailer a few days ago.

Anyone else picking it up tomorrow?

Someone has already been posting the campaign story as well as the arcade endings.

I watched them and the story is much better than the first game and has a mechanic in it that I hope Netherrealm uses in Mortal Kombat 11.

Non-Spoiler: Captain Cold's ending had me

Gamestop just called and said they're selling it at 9pm.

So that cool.

I was excited and was planning on picking it up until....

The news was just not good around the extra content. The entire setup is just wrong, as with a few other games of the kind. Either release a game for free with microtransactions, or release it full price (I guess with DLC) without any microtransactions. Dislike that Overwatch does it as well, and that massive success is going to drive others to do it.

I'm hoping MvC doesn't go the same direction.

The pay 2 play elements like what DannyB explained are exactly what MLB the Show did this year.

Can get a few diamond and gold players w/ the $100 version along w/ access to a rookie Griffey card that has it's own missions.

They'll release that card later in the year and I don't see it as a big deal and I know most of the community doesn't either. I guess it's kind of the Ultimate Team thinking though. Seems pretty dumb for a fighting game.

When you pay you only get cosmetic items. Outside of the dlc characters, there's no reason to spend a dime. Really enjoying the game so far. Such an excellent fighting game and of course gotta love all the DC characters.
