Be careful of burn out from side quests , though.
I was worried about this. This always happens to me with AC games, the Witcher 3 etc.
But this just feels different. The enjoyment factor is there with each quest. I can only think of two other games that I did not get sidequest burnout from and those are Days Gone and Rebirth.
I have been knocking out a zone then I’ll do a MSQ or two and then knock out another zone.
I think it’s just the world that I enjoy exploring and of course when that soundtrack kicks in after I fire that first headshot that keeps my juices flowing.

The throwing knives are awesome.

Yeah, it’s really fun. The world is incredible. Lot of different play styles and weapons too. Swords, machine guns, knives, pistols etc. can switch it up whenever you get bored. One of my favorite games tbh

It should be mentioned that the anime is a must watch. I don't even like anime but loved Edgerunners but it helped that I had played the game so much I knew where they were in the city in lots of the scenes. And the game now has some of their equipment.

ike every time I try I get busted and end up in a fire fight anyways. I think it’s fleshed out but just a challenge and a drag for me
Once you have silenced weapons that drop an enemy in one hit, optic camo, and powerful quick hacks that dont alert other enemies stealth is a piece of cake.

I'm a stealth guy so I wonder if those mechanics aren't just fleshed out well?
It is extremely well fleshed out. You just have to have to spec your character and weapons for it. It takes a bit of time to aquire all the skills and weapons but once you do stealth works perfectly.

Fully played through Cyberpunk when it first came out, haven't touched it since all the updates and improvements but my thoughts:
1. You could see buried under the gigantic pile of technical issues that the potential for a great game was lurking there. The city was gorgeous, the setting full of potential, etc. It was a significantly more interesting GTA.
2. The sound track was great, the storyline and voice acting was great, some of the concepts they touched on (transhumanism, AI, free will, etc.) are some of the deepest, most philosophical ever done in a video game.
3. Even without the technical issues, most of the game systems at launch were half baked and terribly balanced. You could see cut content and cut corners everywhere. They clearly rushed the game out the door and had to cut stuff and game balance/polishing often times comes at the end, this apparently was all addressed in the 2.0 rework of many of the perk and combat systems.

Neither my wife nor I watch anime; my wife has never played CP2077.
We both really, really enjoyed Edgerunners.
