Absolutely. I made friends during that period that I still keep in touch with to this day. Some of us have gone on vacation together, send Christmas cards, etc.
I took the entire week off for the release of Burning Crusade, just to binge the new content. I stopped playing in 2010, and to this day I still get goosebumps when the title screen track comes up on my iPod.

With so many games to choose from, for me it has to be... Phantasy Star Online. Without having a PC in the house at the time, that was my first ever “mmo”. As a teenager, being able to play and chat with people over the internet blew my fuggin’ mind.
I only wish that kids nowadays had the nightmare of knowing what it’s like to wait forever for your dialup internet to connect, just to have your mom pick up the phone 45 seconds later and disconnect you.

Mine would either be Diablo 2 LOD or Fallout 3. With Skyrim right there in contention as well
