The ladder is terrible lately. Its hard to stay close to even 10 if you play casually. Every month I pushed Legend and achieved it back when Temp Mage was good. Now, I can't break 12 since MSG.

oddly enough, I find myself more toxic and verbally aggressive playing NHL single player franchises (not even online) then I ever was in league. I curse up a storm and berate fake NHL players

Is this game impossible for beginners? I started yesterday and am going against players with some cards that seem OP as frick. I just fought one with a card that summoned a legendary every time it attacked. Does it get better? Is the matchmaking just f'ed up?

It's pay to win. The starter decks stand zero chance against anyone who's either spent money on the game to buy packs and get the cards from the solo adventures, or played long enough to get them honestly.

It's impossible for beginners if your goal is to be competitive yes.
Each expansion has made it harder to get into the game, despite the fact that expansions rotate out now. On top of this, Blizzard doesn't offer nearly enough free cards for beginners to be competitive past very very low ladder ranks.
On top of that, competitive card games have always had elements of luck and randomness in terms of drawing cards and dice rolls, and Hearthstone adds so many additional random mechanics that make it to where so many things are out of your control. I don't see how people find that enjoyable.

I deleted it. Played for a while tonight and won one match. Has some potential, but they need a good match making system. The current one sucks.
