Not sure what board to put this in. I don’t plan on playing any games with them. I just like the puzzle aspect of painting weird miniatures.

I obviously suck. But I do find it to be incredibly zen and a great feeling of concentration.

I guess I’ll give them to my nephew to play with as toys when he gets old enough.

Biggest issue is cost. I feel like an idiot for being buckle and fined for paint and brushes and primer, etc.

You don’t want to see my pics lol. They’re ok for beginning with no painting experience. But I don’t have enough paint to do a lot of what the guides do

Yeah that’s what seemed easiest to start.

But I’m will also do Perry’s. Like old school Spartans and civil war and WWI stuff, etc

At less I love America.

I've watched soo much Star Trek TNG since covid began, Everytime I read or hear the word fish, I think of one of Q's lessons to Picard.

The 3rd lesson here around the 4min mark

Edt: Sorry for derailing/hijacking thread OP. Sicboy has a knack for derails.

But post pics.

I don't play any table top games, but love projects. I get some ideas from this guy, enjoy his content.

I’m not a big enough fan to rank them. I just know that of the ones I’ve watched, I liked enterprise the best for whatever reason.

Picard seems like a big sci-fi SJW circle jerk

Picard is worse television than season 8 of GoT.

By not understanding why ppl like Star Trek.

I'm a terrible person IRL, always depressed, shtty friend, worse bf, lost hope in humanity.

But I watch Star Trek because it gives me optimism.

Discovery and Picard shtts all over that optimism.

There are t any that are paint by the numbers but depending on what you’re getting, there are guides or videos how to paint them. If you buy from games workshop, they have a suggestion of what colors you should use.

The thing is, for the models you see, they’re using 10-12 different paints. Like for every base color, you might want to use one to two different other paints to add on top of that.

So me right now, I have one blue. One red. One yellow, etc. and a few shades, layers, etc that came in the starter box. you can do some stuff, but a lot of the really cool models use a ton of colors and it gets stupid expensive when one color costs 4-7 dollars

There’s a big paint by the numbers element when you get started, but really great painters (not myself) can make seemless transitions and blends. Adding highlights of paint or applying shades that pool in crevasses enhance the piece.

There are a ton of guides online on how to paint, but I won’t say it’s a cheap hobby in the slightest.
