re: I don't think Mass Effect 4 is going to be "woke" or whatever, but rather super safe

Generally not, in the same way that you have Fallout 3, Fallout: NV, and Fallout 4.
I guess so, though Fallout makes more sense as NV was done by a different company than 3 and 4, while all of the Mass Effect games were created by BioWare (well, except for the mobile game Mass Effect Infiltrator that came out in 2012, but that's just being anal about it).

I’m not sure if that’s always a prerequisite, but if we go down that path, while all ME games were developed by BioWare, the main trilogy was developed by BioWare Edmonton while Andromeda was developed by BioWare Montreal, as the Edmonton studio was focussed on Anthem.

No, it's Mass Effect: Andromeda

Even isolating your perspective as absolute truth, I feel it establishes a pattern in light of the last Bioware release.
And I am pretty sure the "it was just one scene" is the meme. I remember an article showing several scenes where angles were adjusted to reduce sexualization. And the article was in support of the changes.
I may look it up when I get home
Based on current trends, whatever site it was, is probably gone.
The "correction" of games journalism is the best vindication for GamerGate

But the point wasn’t the reduction of sexualization, as should be evident by the fact that they didn’t, at all, change any of the romance scenes or remove all of the dialogue arse shots, as this redditor thought he “discovered”: LINK
Whether I’m correctly remembering that it was one scene or multiple, the point was to reduce sexualization in scenes in which it’s tonally inappropriate, like when she’s talking about her abusive dad or her missing baby sister. That’s not being woke; that’s simply acknowledging that their “camerawork” was distracting from a scene that’s supposed to be powerful for non-arse related reasons

ME:A was a gigantic woke turd. Bioware learned no lessions and released Veilguard.
Blizzard, Obsidian, and Bioware might as well be dead at this point. Let the rise of AA studios wash out the bloated AAA ones.

It’s been many years since I played Andromeda, but I don’t remember it being woke. Any examples?

It was just shite. . .made by the same studio that made Veilguard, which was dogshit
Story was the only thing Andromeda had going for it.
Dialog, combat, models, mechanics were all complete shite

I’m not saying it was a great game; I just didn’t remember it being woke at all

I am agreeing with you
It genuinely felt like it could go either way

I’ll disagree on combat, though. I thought that was the one bright spot.

If by same studio you mean BioWare, then yes you are correct, but they were made by different teams.
The team that made the Multiplayer for Mass Effect 3 made Andromeda while the main team worked on Anthem.
It has been reported in the past that BioWare didn't value their writing talent, and nowhere has it been more obvious than with Veilguard's awful writing.

Bioware Montreal made Andromeda and Veilguard.
That was the studio that was just closed, iirc
