How long in your mind before Xbox ditches illusions of hardware completely?

I think anyone paying attention and isn’t delusional about Xbox fanboy mental illness can see the clear signs of what is coming. Xbox will rebrand eventually as something like “Microsoft gaming” if not that name specifically. Since Sony and Nintendo have cucked them into nonstop corner tears on console sales (PS5 outsold Xbox series systems 5:1 over previous 5-6 months) they will find it impossible to justify staying console makers imo after the next generation taking a similar path to Sega (but with much more infrastructure in place) to 3rd party publishers.
Unfortunately this is entirely dependent on game pass and PlayStation owners giving a frick about any of their mostly supremely underwhelming games to flourish. As we know gamepass has severely stagnated after 2021 experiences of 1-3% growth (ouch as frick) and this is manipulative behavior by folding Xbox gold into gamepass lower tier players raising the numbers to 31 million from the 20ish million who use the gamepass most people colloquially think of.
Now with the final card in their deck that will essentially be the final hail Mary being they will put the new CoD on gamepass day 1 (forgoing BILLIONS in games sold on a very popular system for it) while pushing cloud games (makes up less than 2% of all gaming) while telling people for years they don’t need an Xbox while the best data we have suggest over 85% of all their hedged future in gamepass comes from consoles since pc users largely say frick that, is there anyone here who can spin any of this as actually a good thing and Xbox is in a positive position not completely failing?

Oh and rumors abound they offered Valve 16 billion to acquire them. Putting aside how retarded and drunk they must be to think Gabe would take that roughly 25000% underpay

I honestly couldn't care less if XBox leaves the console wars, as I only buy PS every generation. Whether folks prefer XBox or PS has no impact on what I enjoy. That said, I'd prefer there always be competition. Anytime competitors leave the market, it usually means bad news. Madden/NFL for example. Hell...even MLB The Show doesn't seem all that motivated in showing innovation or improving their games at this point. When Sony had MLB the Show and Microsoft had MLB 2K, the folks over at The Show in particular always upped the ante with their product because momma Sony wanted to use it to push more consoles.
Additionally...if XBox leaves, that'll just make it harder to find and purchase the PS consoles in the future.

I agree completely strokes. Competition is great because it keeps Sony from going full dumb frick mode but super seyan. As you say if they do drop hardware someone will rise to replace them in the big 3

If any legitimate response is given by anyone that’s a true fan of Xbox and the brand that’s not a personal attack, cope, seething, or lies and a good faith attempt at accepting how much they’ve fricked up mostly all they’ve done for a decade while optimistically painting an alternative vision I see for them for a more bright future in a good faith attempt at responding I’ll eat my shoe.

I have, and have had, both for the last 3 gens. Xbox isn’t going anywhere. If anything, they will go full digital console and ditch the discs, but they’re not getting rid of the Xbox.
And to say GamePass has stagnated, I’m not sure. They’re releasing some damn good day 1 stuff on there.

I’m not just throwing shite our there my guy. Gamepass has stagnated with 1-3% growth since the pandemic boom ended in roughly 2021. If you truly question me I’ll bring the receipts for you courtesy of most Paul Tassi who writes for Forbes. The most recent financial report so a large increase in Xbox total net revenue and profit yes however if you dig a big and remove Activision which this is their first quarterly in those reports, every other Xbox venture and avenue for profit lost 3-5% year over year.
And why would they just go full digital and keep making hardware which most know consoles are sold at a loss. If Xbox is selling 5:1 ratio to ps5 and the switch is almost certainly going to beat ps2 before it’s end as best console selling device ever the switch 2 will massacre them too, what possible business motivation do they have to continue making console hardware. They’ve been telling people for years basically frick Xbox you don’t need one.
The only possible thing that might give pause is again it’s estimated 75-85% of ALL gamepass subscribers not the ones involved in the recent Xbox gold roll into it to add 11 million subs but the ones who get those”amazing day one games” you’re for some reason acting like is real, they’re using an Xbox

Xbox currently runs on a modified version of windows. The thinking is their next and last console with run on full blown windows as a computer does.
