If it is a role playing game, I normally have to start over.

I'm going to twist this a bit and say:

effin destroy it. I usually stop a game because I can't get past a hurdle...and come back a month or two later and that thing is the easiest thing ever.

I thought I was the only one who just couldn't get into Bioshock 1. I was thinking about skipping to infinite as well.

I couldn't get into it either. As much as I loved what they were trying to do, the gameplay just wasn't there for me.

I've said this before, but the hacking in the first game was a real turnoff, as dumb as that sounds. Plus I just really dug the setting in Infinite.

frick all y'all. Bioshock 1 >>>>Infinite.

ETA:

Hacking did get tedious after a while though.

I just remember how original and unexpected Bioshock 1 was. It blew me away. Infinite, although good, couldn't touch that.

If you have the time I suggest you check out this Bioshock Infinite analysis. It's not a bad watch and this fellas review are pretty solid. He does a great job breaking down why he believes Bioshock Infinite is overrated.

It is long though.

Unless you're talking about the campaign, that doesn't really apply here.

Hey..you like what you like.

Curious though did you play Infinite before you ever played Bioshock 1?

If so, I wonder if you would think differently if you played them in reverse.

I started and stopped the first one like 3 or 4 times. I think the furthest I got was, and I'm probably remembering this wrong, your second fight with a Big Daddy, or the second one you come across that you can engage. I don't really know, but for some reason, I'd just tire of it. I was reluctant to play Infinite for this reason. I got it pretty cheap with the summer sale, I think, and on a whim, started playing it one night and kept at it, which is rare for me, and actually finished a game. It was glorious

I agree that there was probably too much combat, but I didn't mind it too much, and I liked not having to hack crap. The mechanics with Elizabeth were fun (I liked not having to babysit her), and the game just looked great. I went directly to youtube and wiki after I finished it because I wasn't exactly sure what was happening.

They are definitely two very different games.

Same here, but at the same time the story in Infinite was one thing I enjoyed more than in Bioshock 1.

One thing I noticed last night, right before you get to the raffle, is that statue changing to I'm assuming Comstock's wife. What was it before? I was tempted to reload and see but was too tired to bother.
